Sitting just about to stamp in. Lady with dog stops and proceeds to tell me they just ran into a moose. i listen patiently and then she asks me what i'm doing.
i respond, "I'm doing a mosquito study. i have to sit here for 15 minutes and count how many mosquito bites i get." She says, "Is that for the Parks and Rec dept?" I explain that "Its for the Health Dept. We're checking for Nile virus." She tilts her head and starts rapidly walking away with her dog. "Bye".

Now see this is really good. It includes every bit of extreme illogic we've all come to expect from govt. entities and that makes it completely plausible.

our favorite excuse was that we were doing something for a kid's school project, or a homeschooling nature study or some such thing... but then the kids all went off to school! Now we just box with the little one who is too young to be studying nature =o) I guess now I am stuck with my bag lady routine (sorry handy trackers) or maybe "that annoying lady on the cell phone" that always gets rid of people =o)

The kids were a great excuse, but they aren't usually with me. When I am boxing with other adults, we will tell people that we are on a treasure hunt set up by some friends. That explains it when we get caught emerging from the bushes with tupperware in our hands!

I visited an ENT specialist this week...When I told him my problems ..., he said, "geocaching?"

Smart guy, I heard geocaching can make your brain hurt. I think has something to due with all that clueless wandering about.... ;)
