I found a ski mask sitting on top of my LB when I went to do maintenence on a HOT june day!

Scary find - Recently my friend and I took our daughters LB'ing and I was elected "box getter" and I saw wrappings to syringes, but never thought that much about it until when we went to leave the girls were like "Look what we found!" and when we moms turned around, there was my daughter holding up the syringe, used, with the needle still attached! I was freaking out making sure they weren't lying when they said that they did not get pricked by it...

I never thought about having a talk about that stuff in 2008. In my mind, that was more like a talk you would have with your kids in the early 90's... We had a LONG talk about it that day.

I have found - golf balls, pens, pencils, a shoe, various articles of clothes, fishing equipment, vicious forest animals, too much trash to mention, an air soft gun, 5 unused shot gun shells, 2 packs of cigarettes, 3 condoms (unuseds), alot of friends and a fiance. Can anyone top the last one, I don't think so.

Fabled Romance Letterbox series -- okay, JBBK and Nurse Wanderseek, you need to get busy crafting your stories and stamps.

This weekend we found lots of beer cans, 4 condoms, 3 toy cars, 2 dirty mattresses, and 1 interesting sign! :)

Our experience is the same. Other than generic litter (beverage containers and food wrappers), undergarments are the next most common item. I think some guy around here has a blog about it. I think his trail name is waffle or something...

We have stumbled across this as well, in an out of the way rural part of Maine. You never know. Apparently remote parking lots in nature areas are good for more than just appreciating nature and letterboxing.

I have not found a pot of gold but I did find someone's pot stash! And it was sitting right on top of the letterbox! After a quick lesson to my teenage daughter as to what pot looks and smells like, we quickly ran for the nearest trashcan and booked it outta there! Someone was gonna be very upset when they went back for their stash. At least I got to contribute to one person's drug intervention!

No box. But I did check out the Flippin' cemetery behind the Flippin' church. There are a few trees that might make a pretty Flippin' good spot.. :)

I have not found a pot of gold but I did find someone's pot stash!

I forgot about finding a few stray plants growing in the woods while searching for a box. I never did find the box, and left nature as I had found it.

I seem to be cursed by snakes. Yes, even in Aspen, CO. 3 count 'em, Snake Encounters, so far just THIS year...alone - as in "I was there." So far (cross fingers) only one solo...

I learned last weeked, that I was WRONG. I don't like finding out that I'm wrong, but I "own it" when that's the thing to be done. Not poisonous in this case, but man oh man I'm starting to feel like Indiana Jones in Colorado when it comes to Fierce Creatures.

We just rescued a beautiful 4 1/2' malnourished red tail boa today. A reminder to all thinking about these wonderful creatures as pets, yes they are cute and small when you get them, but they do grow big and heavy, and are usually a 20 year investment.
