If I ever start a letterboxing fan-band, I'm totally calling it Squishy Bootsuck & the Trail Babes.

You've obviously never hiked in the Big Cypress area. ;o)
I know it's considered bad form to do so, but honestly, I bet you can't convince even 1 out of a 100 people to go through the "right" way. My opinion of mudholes is that it's a drainage problem that needs to be fixed. Ultimately, that's the only way trail maintainers are going to stop the mudhole from getting larger. It might involve putting large rocks to be used as stepping stones across the mudholes, boards, or sometimes it's as simple as digging out a place for the water to drain. But in a nutshell, I consider it a trail maintenance issue that needs to be fixed.

Not a bad trail name, either. Wonder what the sig stamp would look like?

You could try tying plastic grocery bags around your shoes before you hit the mud. When you're done, you just throw it away. We did this once when my daughter's scout troop provided lunch at a very muddy "Habitat for Humanity" building site. Worked great and our cars stayed clean for the ride home.

That is a great idea Waltzing Pigs. We hike in waterproof boots and then put them IN the bags. But, for those times when we do not HAVE them in the car... easier to keep the bags in teh car! Thanks!

Not sure, but I'm betting it'd be one of the ones that Ryan wouldn't allow on the site. :)

*blushing* thanks, but it's Harriet! *wink*
18 rounds can do a number on a spider. Very satisfying.

Maybe you need to spend some time at the range. It shouldn't have taken more than one. =8)

*smirk* What can I say, fear can do a number on a girl's psyche! I didn't want a part bigger than a finger tip left. Ugh.
I didn't clean it up either. Left it as a warning to other spiders. Well until Wes got home and hosed it off anyway. heh
