So today we are out looking for a box pretty sure we are not going to find it because duh I forgot the clue at home and two people with backpacks come walking up. My son Alex shouts hey are you letterboxers too? The woman says well so much for stealth. LOL So we met our first letterboxers on the trail today. Their names were Wanda and Pete. Imagine that. So they exchanged with my boys. The boys are all excited because they got their first exchange stamp today. So how do you explain stealth to a 6 year old? ;) Kris

I have had no luck with the stealth thing either. Yes, young boy, also.

But if you were stealthy, you wouldn't have done your exchange!

I told my youngest that we were like super sneaky spies. she gets into it now, whispering the moment we get out of the van.

Kris, I know you're fairly new to letterboxing, I wonder if you realize you just met the pair of boxers who probably have more finds than the rest of us put together...

Wanda and Pete

That is getting pretty special. It would be like running into GT on the trail!

On our 4th box we ran into Granny & PaPa! That was special :).

Wow! The first letterboxers you met on a trail? I wonder what the odds of that are...

I had heard their names before. I see their stamps in all the boxes I have found. She told me that they have like 16,000 finds. Holy cow! I'm proud of my 16. I'm glad they came or we would never have found the box. LOL They were very nice. We stayed and chatted for a while. My sons were probably driving them nuts. They are very rambunctious. Running around yelling playing with their boxing buddies. Wanda exchanged with my son's buddy Chopper. He was thrilled. Kris

Mine is 8 now, but she thinks it means yelling "hurry Mom, someone's coming". :)

LOL That's what my youngest does. Hurry Mom I see people. Makes them wonder all the more what you are up to. Thankfully we don't see people while we are boxing very often. Kris

My boys are 2, 4, and 7. (We just started letterboxing this month) My 2 year old - he just goes looking for sticks, so it's not a problem. My other 2, we've tried to explain that we need to keep it a secret - so they decide to pretend that they are playing "spies" while on a hunt. Of course, I'm not sure my 4 year old even knows what that entails - but at least he whispers most of the time if I remind him to be a "spy"! :)
