Help!!

Does anyone know how to get ink out of carpets?!? My 2 yo just got into all my ink pads and started stamping the carpets with them! Ugh! What a mess!

It seems that most has come out with soap and water, but since green was his choice of color it still looks a bit more St.Patrick-y than I would like on my off-white carpets!

*sigh* Thanks for the help...

One of the standard stain removers (and it works GREAT on Sharpie on fabric - my then 3 yo helped me learn that first hand!) is rubbing alcohol - the kind you get for about 75 cents at the local pharmacy or grocery store. Use on a hidden place to check for colorfastness, etc., etc......

Were they pigment ink pads or dye ink?

Give that 2 yo some big sheets of paper, and then sell said "decorated" sheets as one of a kind "expressive" art on eBay........ if nothing else, maybe you will make enough to buy some rubbing alcohol ;-))

I didn't know that about the rubbing alcohol. Good to know.

I think Tequila would be better. Just pour yourself a couple of shooters and then "Who cares".

With two small boys myself, that is my philosophy. :)

I consider it "art". The custom dyed carpet would probably go very well with the "abstract mural" in my living room and my "antiqued" table and chairs.

Alcohol always seems to solve all my problems...rubbing and distilled.

Well, the alcohol did not remove it entirely, but at least now it blends in more and I don't think anyone but me will notice it =o) If it was not in the middle of the floor I would just stick a plant over it and call it "removed" =o)

Maybe I will stick with the alcohol solves everything solution. No tequilla, but a nice bottle of wine is sitting in my fridge just waiting for after the "little green monster" goes to bed. (My son, who is now dyed with green ink all over his legs, arms, and face... now lovingly refered to as my little green monster).

I consider it "art". The custom dyed carpet would probably go very well with the "abstract mural" in my living room and my "antiqued" table and chairs.

I too have lots of these "art" pieces =o) too bad you can't frame a spot on your carpet. Framed areas always look more purposeful!

Cheers!

No, your "little green ARTIST". Chant it three times, then drink a glass of wine and pretend you are at a gallary. XX) You can now say to your friends, "I think this lovely shade of chartreuse compliments what we are trying to achieve in this room." :)

I'll have to keep the rubbing alcohol trick in mind. Generally my solution to "art" is a Mister Clean Magic Eraser, but in the this situation I don't know what I would do after I finished screaming. ;)

Try "AWESOME" a cleaner sold at Dollar General. It will and does clean everything that you can imagine. It is sold in a spray bottle and is supposed to be diluted according to what you are cleaning the ratios are on the bottle and for very tough stains you can use it straight.

It is the only cleanser that I buy for the whole house!
