Well over the past few days I have gone out to both find and plant some boxes. Two of my usual boxing companions are the 2 and 4 year old little boys that I babysit for. Yeasterday after finding 5 boxes the 2 yo just kept telling me, "freezing out" and the 4 yo said we weren't done finding letterboxes yet...he knew we were going to find more (even though I had found all of the ones I intended to find during this trip). The 4 yo is also famous for yelling "noxer" everytime ANYONE walks by, and he tells his parents that they have to take him letterboxing. I've told them about it but I don't think they'll be jumping on the bandwagon anytime soon ;)
Anyway, just now I came downstairs to find the 2 of them gathered around my christmas tree. They looked as though they were carrying imaginary things and crawling around underneath it looking up. When I asked them what they were doing the 4 yo told me they were "finding letterboxes in the tree" and he "told me that we were going to find more." They continued to grab armfulls of "boxes and stamps" and bring them over to me so I could put them in my book.
OK I cracked up...it's one thing to corrupt your own children but now I'm corrupting other people's (who still have no idea what noxer means and why their 4 yo son yells it at people they walk by in a park). I love it...too cute!

What a cute story!! I'm thinking a stamp with a tree and kids should be carved, with that story in the clues or logbook!!

What lucky boys to have you for a babysitter. They're having wholesome fun and exercising at the same time. Beats sitting at home being entertained by the T.V. all day, or playing video games. It's great that you are interacting with them, and getting them interested in LBing at such a young age!

If I were a kid I'd love to have you be my babysitter!!
