You got it!!! BR1 called from Manhattan, KS!!! He is safe and sound and back on American soil!!! Jenny and the kids were with him---and he knew the score of 3-0 even though the game isn't being televised at the Damon's they are at?!

He said he tried on the OSU jacket and it fit soooo nicely----but that the OSU earrings did not!! Cannot say what else he said about those earrings on here---but will share with anyone I see! lol

I'm on the phone with BR1 right now---he's doing GREAT!!! He was invited to be on The Today Show but can't do it because he will be buffalo hunting. He also got interviewed and will be in the Riley KS newspaper!!! He is doing super well! He has to report in to work yet tonight for a few hours....then a very LONG day turning in guns and equipment etc. tomorrow and then at 9:00 am tomorrow he is FREE for 27 days!!!!!!!!

I'm getting ready to call BR1----and just so y'all know---I'm not making him make good on this bet OTHER than wearing his OSU gear for a pic!!! I think this soldier deserves a break!!! Would you all agree???

Also....I did not mean to imply that BR1 was going back to Iraq....although down the line he may have to. (Greg's Battalian already knows their next deployment is back to Iraq for #4) I just meant that he is on complete R&R for those days. He is officially DONE as of 9:00 am on Monday....out of the military even. Once he gets done with this travels, hunting and spending time with his family---including up in the UP of MI with his parents and (muzzleloading) hunting for 3 days then he'll make his way back to Statesville where his next military job will begin.

Right now he gets to stay with his family at a camp ground just 10 miles from his post as he finishes up debriefing etc. at Fort Riley. Jenny said she already saw a mule deer as large as an ELK?! wooo hooo! They are thrilled to have Joe back home safe and sound! I could hear how happy the kids were in the background!!! NICE!!!!!

Okay....I promised I'd post on the Iraq board for him so that is next...then "the call" !! =)

So glad to hear from you BR1!! It sounds like you couldn't have had a better time on your hunt!!! You got BOTH a buffalo AND a turkey?! Very impressive---completely different skills!!! Is that .30/,30 yours??? Is it an over and under too?! I'm beyond jealous! Dr. Watson----we'll go up there in that country together sometime! I've got my "before I die list" too! I've gotta see a moose and a buffalo before I die.

...and BR1??!! Give your kids a nice big hug for all of us, will you??? =) Tell 'em they did a great job "waving" at you! =)
