My husband . . . the hero

Yesterday, I hosted a Polar Bear Protested at Sacramento's Capital. I had never done this before and I needed volunteers. I asked my husband for help. He reminded me that he needed to work. This of course injured my feelings, as it was obvious I was very devouted to this, felt very intense about the subject matter and worked very hard on my project.
But us letterboxers trek on . . .
Yesterday, as people began showing up, I noticed a person dressed from head to toe in a Polar Bear costume. I had asked everyone to come dressed as a polar bear but I thought "wow, he really went all out!". When I went to greet him, I extended my hand to shake his paw. He then grabbed me, and got a little too frisky with his "paws." I immediately pushed him away and was about to explain to who ever it was that he needed to keep his paws to himself. At which time, the Polar Bear removed his head and there stood my husband.
I was so shocked! I had no idea. Apparently he had planned to do this for weeks.
But what was even more great, he was a huge hit. Attendees wanted pictures with him. Tourist just checking out the Capital Building were flagging him down for pictures. Children were approaching him. He was honked at by people driving by. It was really, really great.
My husband, the hero . . . I guess you really don't know how wonderful people can be.

WOW! He deserves extra kisses! What is a polar bear protest? I can't tell if it is a protest in the interest of polar bears( I would assume about global warming?), or a protest in the cold. BTW, I Love Sacto...spent some time there a couple of summers ago. Folks in Cali were really nice. (We had some guy cut us off on the toll road from Sacto to SF, and he paid our toll because he realized he did it.) I also met a couple of local LBer's and di some lebing in old sacto...it was wonderful!

I always thought those polar bears looked a little suspicious, just a little too comfortable for their own good. ;o)

Not only is he an awesome husband, but he had a larger task to complete. He was fulfilling your karma for the weekend! No good deed (Toasty Toes) goes unrewarded. :-)

Here's a shout out to you too, for not sitting at home and bemoaning the increasingly alarming state of affairs our world is in but getting out and agitating for change. You're a hero too, you know. *salaam*
