Quote You know, that's a very convincing argument for me, so I've switched the link colors for visited and non-visited links on all the themes.

Wow! I've convinced Ryan of something—I think I'm more excited than I was the first time I was in Boxers 'n' Briefs!

The monitor used can make a world of difference, too. One pair of colors might be fairly easily readable on the monitor that the placer was using and then all but disappear on some of the monitors others are using to try to read the clues.

I have visual difficulties. I need contrast. So, I am sensitive to what is readable and what is not. But, I found Kirbert's statements to be true on my clues. They were fine on my home computer. Then, someone complained... well, let me know they were a problem. When I checked them out on my office computer, I could not read them well. So, I changed them.

I really appreciate that the clues PRINT black on white, no matter what the planter chooses. I wish I could choose to print them larger so I can see them on the darkness of the trail. There is the blow up option, but it does not always work when they are actually printed. So, I often just cut and paste to Word and print there larger. And, for reading the clues, I have often used the highlighting technique described. It works wonders.

You can print clues larger--set it in your preferences at http://www.atlasquest.com/mypage/prefs/usability.html. Or is that what you mean by the "blow up" option? It should be fairly reliable--at least on modern browsers. I've never had a problem with it, at least. I like to display text on the monitor in the "normal" size and print in the "small" size myself to help save paper and ink. =) But if you need your clues printed larger, be sure to set up your preferences that way. *nodding*

Ryan, I did set the preferences to the largest choice. But, sometimes, the printer, or computer or something does not listen. Seems to be about 1/2 the time. And, I mostly print my clues on one computer, and sometimes another, but only those two. So, rather than stressing, I just cut, paste, make bigger, and print. Then, I don't waste the paper if I print once and the puter-gremlins make is smaller.

Well, those settings only apply to AQ hosted clues. I don't have much control over how other websites print clues. Is it possible that that's the problem? You print a clue from LbNA or other remote site and the text becomes small again?

If you can pinpoint a specific clue that does not seem to print larger text like it should, let me know and I'll look into it. I just tried checking out several clues myself, but they all seem to work correctly for me. *shrug* Let me know what size you are using, what browser you are using, and the URL to the clue that you tried to print.

I guess I COULD set my font size to something larger than the small size I use.

Setting your Text Size doesn't do anything for AQ clues. I don't know if anybody has complained about this or not.
