I went to a Maine LB event

Now that the event is over, I can tell you that I was a Mystery Guest at Fright Night 3 in Gorham, Maine, just outside Portland.

I registered as Cocoa Puffs (you know, cuckoo (KuKu) for Cocoa Puffs?) My personna is still up if you would like to read my interview. I was also posting lots of fun posts to the Maine board.

I didn't realize it at the time, but the key organizer for Fright Night is Mainekokopellian. The LBer's out there call him koko. So, they all thought it was him. We fooled them all.

I had found the official dance of the Cocoa Puffs Cuckoo Bird and made a PT called Sonny's Dance. I have now posted in on my real profile. Check out the dance. I had people flapping their arms and dancing around. It was hilarious!

The stamp for this, carved by koko, I may place permenently, as the PT was only available for 1 day, and y'all out here would not have gotten it.

Ryan & Amanda and Webfoot were also Mystery Guests.

Because of me, Ryan & Amanda attending from the west coast, the LBer's there are already plotting how to form a group to come out for Live & Breathe, which would be great!! These people are really wonderful.

One amazing experience happened to me on Sunday, day after the big event. A group of us were pursuing some new lighthouse boxes and tried to find a legerdermaine box (nope! dang!).

We had already found a box and were straggled out walking to where the landmark for the leger box used to be.

I was with a few people and we were chatting. I was in mid sentence when I happened to look down. There was a large log on one side of the trail (a really wonderful trail in a maintained park.)

There was a Lock & Lock barely under the overhang of the log with a little bit of bark. I stooped down and grabbed it and held it up. Nobody could believe this, least of all me! The logbook was full but I ripped out some pages from my spiral logbook. No title for the box, no placer but someone who LB's around there with many of these folks was logged in, so we're hoping she knows what it is, as we couldn't find it on AQ or LbNA.

It looked like it hadn't been put securely under the log and it had fallen down. We rehid it securely and well.

I had heard about "tripping" over LB's in the East, especially Conneticut. I guess it's true!

When something like this happens, I always say I have had Angela luck. (You know her as Yiker).

Oh, and I also had Angela luck for the raffle. I bought $5 of tickets and won the $20 gift certificate to Stampeze!!

I had several LBer's jealous!

It packed well, too.

So, now I must plan out my order — which you know will be more than $20!!!

That sounds like so much fun, Kuku! It must have been great to meet so many letterboxers from the other side of the country. Glad to hear the PNW was represented so nicely.

Littlmoon mentioned to me that she met you and that must have been where. The pictures are great too - what a group! Did you get to go night-boxing? And when are we going to have a night-boxing event around here?

Dear, sweet Marmalade, you must feel like your life revolves around keeping us in letterboxing activities. But if you do have plans for an upcoming night event I'll be so excited! You and Maiden are simply too good to us.

Tyra, who is thankful for Lb friends
