I was driving along today with 4 kids in the car; 2 8yo and 2 5yo. This was the conversation in the backseat:

8yo#1: "Look! A rainbow! I saw it first, I get all the gold!:

8yo#2: "I saw it second, so I get half!"

5yo#1: "I saw it third, so I get the third half."

5yo#2: "I saw it too, I get half, too!"

Wow, that's a lot of halves! I guess I should have chimed in, too. After all a fifth half of gold is better than no gold at all (I think;-)

Happy Papaya
that is such a cute story!!!!!!!
What fun!
Yup, you are going to have to do a game with some cins, starting with the first person getting half!
hmm, that should make em think! But then, some 5 yr olds would want to cut those coins into even pieces.

Too cute. I teach my 5 year old subtraction with Hershey Kisses. As in If you have 5 Hershey Kisses and Mommy eats 3 how many are left? I love chocolate. LOL
