I hope you've found time for a little sleep.

I had this dream where I climbed up, hundreds of feet high in a tree that had fallen over. (I had no idea trees could grow so large they still tower several hundred feet high AFTER they've fallen over!) Then I went to climb out on a branch--I distinctly remember it overlooked a construction site and I could see all the little ant people working in a big hole in the ground--and the branch started shaking, as if it couldn't support my weight. And I grabbed onto the trunk, looked out on the branch, and noticed it went only ten or fifteen feet out, quivering in the air, and suddenly realizing how precarious my situation was, and thinking, "I'm going to die here...."

Then I woke up. It wasn't a good dream, so I'm perfectly happy doing without sleep at the moment. =)

Quote There really wasn't a huge hurry about the calendars (we do have a couple of months, after all)...

I dunno why this seems to be the general feeling about calendars. The proper time to acquire a new calendar is somewhere around September so you can start marking down important dates and appointments in it. If you don't get a calendar until December (some people seem to think they make fine Christmas presents) then the December page of the old calendar ends up with scores of little notes in it of things that need to be written into the new calendar as soon as you get one.

Fortunately, my wife's a school teacher and they usually get a free calendar right at the beginning of the school year, apparently because somebody there realizes that teachers need to mark their calendars for the entire school year, not just the first semester. Then friends and relatives give us calendars for Christmas presents, which we just throw away.

I agree, but I must admit I'm guilty of giving them for Christmas presents. Of course, I'll have mine ,so I can put information in it much earlier :-)

I give them as Christmas presents with important dates already marked in on them like...
one month until my birthday....
3 weeks until my birthday....
2 weeks until my birthday....
1 week until my birthday...

You forgot to mark on the months ahead:

5 months till my birthday: save $100 towards my gift.
4 months till my birthday: save another $100 towards my gift . . .

Actually, KuKu, I can't do that if I give the calendars as a Christmas present because my birthday is in February! However, I can start writing in August for them to start saving.... and what I'd like for gifts: PZcut, blades, LnL, membership renewal, badges, new computer, new car....
