I tried to pulse a couple of weeks ago, but for some reason it refused to pulse. I tried it for several days and I had over one million keystrokes that needed pulsing, but darn it, I just refused. Very strange.

I finally decided to look into the matter today and figure out why it wasn't working, and I tried pulsing like I usually do, and it worked! Not sure what was different this time, but I got out a 1.4 million keystroke pulse. Ha! =)

One of these days, I'll have to pulse my laptop. It's getting quite a lot of keystrokes stored up as well.

This pulse, I should also point out, puts me into SEVEN DIGIT territory! I have over 10,000,000 keystrokes to my name! =) I think 5,000,000 of them were due to this update that's coming up on Saturday. ;o)

I know that I don't know what pulsing is (or care to) but said with SUCH enthusiasm....well, to my wack job of a brain......I giggled (aka snorted) at this one. "Pulse" might be like the new pavolvian word for pre....you know......like "mount."

I am also having problems with my WhatPulse. Every time I turn my computer on or click on the program I get this error message:

It apears that your WhatPulse.wpw file is generated by a different WhatPulse version than this one. Please delete this file and try again.

Chadams has tried re-installing it a couple of times and it just doesn't want to work. Does anyone know what the problem may be?

2. What version of Windows? They have some stuff on the website about issues with Vista and the latest version of the program not working correctly without changing some stuff on Windows.

To disable UAC:
*Open Control Panel.
*Under User Account and Family settings click on the "Add or remove user account".
*Click on one of the user accounts, for example you can use the Guest account.
*Under the user account click on the "Go to the main User Account page" link.
*Under "Make changes to your user account" click on the "Change security settings" link.
*In the "Turn on User Account Control (UAC) to make your computer more secure" click to unselect the "Use User Account Control (UAC) to help protect your computer". Click on the Ok button.
*You will be prompted to reboot your computer. Do so when ready.

In order to re-enable UAC just select the above checkbox and reboot.

I don't know the pros and cons of doing this and there is probably a better hack to make this work but since I don't have Vista, I can't play with it, sorry.

AAAHHHHH!! I did exactly that. It came back until I turned it back on and now it's gone again! *Pouting* Hmph! I'll have to go to the site later and see what's up.

If I read that correctly, it worked until turning UAC back on. Don't do that. The line for that was just "if you wanted to turn it back on", I should not have included it since turning it on seems to break Whatpulse...

That is correct. If I don't turn it back on won't I have security problems? I noticed that when it was off and I restarted the computer a pop-up told me that there are multiple security problems and that I needed to fix it. I'm not sure what security problems they are though.

Possibly but not likely more of a risk than having outdated antivirus software. I have thoughts as to what might be the problem and possible ways to fix it (evey new version of Windows does a good job of breaking old programs) but since I don't have it, I can't play.

The other option I think they mentioned was to uninstall 1.5 and load 1.47 which still counts keys and clicks but not mouse mileage? (I did not recheck the link)

Eidolon I got it to work!!! I installed version 1.47(?) and it is working just fine. Stupid Vista. You are also correct about the miles, it doesn't record them :( but hey, this is better than nothing!!!! Thank you so very much!!! You're so smart!!
