Hi,

I thought that I would let you know what a wonderful day Antimony and I had yesterday letterboxing. We decided to go down south of the Ohio River and pick up letterboxes between Lexington and Frankfort. The day was beautiful with the top down on the car and driving through horse country on backroads. What more can you ask for. These horse farms are amazing; we saw lots of horses and gorgeous stables and lots of white and dark fences. And on the way we found some great letterboxes. Found boxes in Nicholasville, Versailles, Midway and Frankfort. One of the clues for a letterbox in Midway suggested a place to eat in this small railroad town. Being obedient letterboxers and always following the clues to the letter, we ate at Darlin' Jean's Apple Cobbler. Wow the food was good. I had the Monte Cristo on a cinnamon bagel with strawberry preserves; sounds odd but was delicious. And we both took home some blackberry cobbler!!

Amazingly, I have never been to Frankfort. What a nice town. Saw the flower clock, the capital, the governor's mansion and Daniel and Rebecca Boone's gravesite. The cemetery where the gravesite resides overlooks downtown Frankfort; what a nice view.

We had no mishaps (that is amazing), no running into something or over a curb, found 13 letterboxes and two hitchhikers, saw a heron at Franz's fish hatchery, a nice waterfall, a peaceful college (Midway), a quaint town (Midway), lots of baby horses, rock walls unique to Kentucky, horse farms, a suntan or burn, hopefully minimal poison ivy exposure (although I do have a few spots that I am itching), a nice cemetery with the Boone's, great company and I found box number 600!!! All and all a wonderful fall day!!

And I got home in time to see the Bearcats win again!!!! They are now ranked in the top 25 and had a sold out crowd.

I do not want to talk about the Bengals.

Dr. W,

It really was wonderful. Yum, yum. But it would have been better if I ate it in the restaurant because they serve it with a hugh scoop of vanilla ice cream (all in a big bowl)!!

And thanks for the 600 congrats!!

Congrats from me as well, LS!! Wow, you two really did it right and took in a lot of sights. I think you have caught all of our attention with the blackberry cobbler?! My mouth started watering immediately. Thanks for sharing with us and congrats on having just a really nice, mishap-free and delightful day!
