I tried Wiki, I tried to create a blog, I tried to dump all of the information off on a data specialitst and they refused, so this is the only way I could see that I could get this to those of you who wanted it. LET'S MAKE SOME POUCHES!

Have you written any text to go with this? I might be able to help you, but it may take a few days. I can handle a wiki or a straight up web page. Drop me a line.

So, I just read about how to make a planters pouch, and thanks to the pictures and directions think that I understand how. But being new, I'm not familiar with what purpose they serve? I would think they carry maybe extra logbooks, etc.?

OK, I am being goofy and replying to my own message, but I think that this method of presenting the tutorial works very well. I would not change a thing.

Awesome mstrwndl! As a finder of a few of your pouches I can vouch for the pouch. These babies will squeeze into small spaces and are almost invisible in their surroundings. They're awesome! Thanks for sharing your manufacturing secrets!

Thanks mstrwndl!!! Your directions were great! I successfully made my first pouch on Saturday. I had a place picked out for a box, but couldn't find a box to fit - so now I'll just use the Planter's Pouch. Thanks again! TH

You are more than welcome. I hope you like them. They get easier and quicker to make as you make more of them.

I know I'm late with this, I was on vacation and have been reading messages a little at a time. I make pouches also and have hidden maybe 20 or so. They are really good for hiding in narrow spaces but sometimes the zipper doesn't hold up well. I use a piece of twine for the tie, duct taped to the pouch. And instead of a flap, I just fold the bag over and then tie it, kinda like a wallet. And it ends up being about the same size as a wallet. I'm going to make some like mstrwndl's because they look really neat! The first letter pouches I saw were in KY and were done by MoWizLiz.

I made mthe statement that MoWizLiz was the inspiration for these bags, but she gives the credit to Safari Man. No telling who he gives the credit to. I have tried the twine, and it was OK. The flap is just a bit more protective and the strap holds it in place when you fold it up. You should really start with a Double seal Ziplock to be sure.

Mstrwndl and Judith, thanks for admiring my funbags, but really, the ones at the BBQ were Safari Man's.

I'm like the deer in the headlights of 'boxing life whenever I read/hear the word "mount."

If someone says ANY part of mounting funbags....ok wait.....boxes?

1-800-FUN-FARM.
pre: Hello? Is this the funny farm??? I think I need to czech in for a bit.
FF: What seems to be the problem?
pre: Wait a second, did you say Fun Farm or Funny Farm? Or what?
FF: Do you have any clue what you just said?
pre: A clue???!! Huh?
FF: Ok, wait I've just started. I'm on the night shift on a Sunday and ....and ...all....
pre: Ok, wait, could you remind me....did you call me, or did I call you?
FF: I'm sorry..I think you have mistaken me for ..for something else.
pre: Ok wait: Never mind! I'm just thinking of Golden Treasures, or something.
FF: OH! The Community Chest!
pre: Ice, ice baby!
FF (nodding): Uh huh!
pre: Um helllllooo. I can't see you when you nod.
FF: Talk to me!
pre: I'm so cold! Time for bed. I've gotten what I needed to say off/in/near "my Chest."

I just finished my first pouch...it was not so bad to make! I had trouble finding a 2 quart baggie; used a 1 quart and everything still worked perfectly. It took me a little longer than I expected, but sometimes my girlie brain doesn't work like it should...oh gosh...
The next one will surely go quicker!
My flap is a little short on this pouch...will used double sided velcro to be sure it stays closed.
Good Luck to all who try... you will succeed!

MS - were you black tape in the "tutorial?

It's in the Wiki help too under Planting Letterboxes. Ryan did a great job setting this up for us. I look forward to seeing how you guys adapt them to suit your own needs. Yes I used black tape in the photos. I figured black was OK, being a colored man, myself. Glad you all liked this and I hope it helped someone. Or, I mean I hope you all had fun with it.
