Holy Cow!
Board: Look at Me! Look At You!

I am simply dumbfounded. My parents came for a visit from NY this past weekend and then made their way home. They came down specifically to meet my boyfriend an see my new house. Well, darned if they didn't just call me and tell me they LIKE my boyfriend and they think my house is FANTASTIC. I'm pretty sure they are clones or aliens or some sort of social psych experiment to see if the dissonance will cause my brain to explode or at least my eyes to switch sides of my head. I have to say, it is the first time they have actually approved of AND went so far as to like something I chose. They must be growing up finally. I am so proud of them.

Oh the days, I remember when my parents grew up. Now that they grew up and relinquished control they're bent up everyday when I don't call them with a life update. GO figure.

Y'know, there must be something about a house that does it. My dad always liked the Highlander, but was a little iffy about him when we lived in the apartments. My MOM spent the first few years of of relationship and marriage looking for things to hate about him (and actually SAID as much near the wedding!).

When they came up here in 2002 and spent Thanksgiving with us in our new home, my dad was really glad that my dream of living in a log home had come true (thanks to the Highlander) and my mom was actually helping him come up with ways to redesign the kitchen! Before they left, she told him if she had another son, she'd want one just like him...all because of a HOUSE!

Are you sure it was the house, and not Highlander's ability to see in the dark, find his prey by echolocation, and sleep hanging upside down from the rafters? Moms dig that sort of stuff...
