59th Birthday Surprise

My mother, MrsHat, is entering the final year of her 50's. As a surprise for her birthday, my Aunt, BB's Gal, and I would like to present her with a special stamp and logbook with sig stamps of people we've met along the "trails" - whether it be actually on the trails, at a gathering, through a PLB ring or simply over message boards - or for that matter, anyone willing to participate in this surprise. I sure that she'll be surprised as she won't be expecting us to do anything "unique" for her 59th birthday.

I'm sending out this message, asking for help in the following ways:
(1) A message to MrsHat on August 9th, wishing her a happy birthday AND
(2) Sig stamps to put together in a logbook. I was wondering if everyone would be willing to send me a 4x6 index card (or same size piece of cardstock) with a birthday note to her and a copy of your sig stamp. Once received, these would be bound together and given to her on her birthday.

DEADLINE: WEDNESDAY, JULY 25TH

For anyone participating in making this special gift for MrsHat, I will share a stamped image of the birthday stamp that we will be sending her out after. Please be sure to include your return address on a separate piece of paper.

Notes/Images can be mailed to:

PO Box 6753

This will be a great surprise and she will love it! Any questions, please feel free to email me, but do not post a reply to this original message as I’m making arrangements to be sure she doesn’t see this one.

Thanks a bunch!

We haven't met you, but we've met your stamps and boxes along the trail! You should expect to get some stamps from us.

Thank you! I'm secretly sitting at her house with both computers running, trying to monitor so I can delete her AQ Digest when it comes... How did GT put it? Wahahahahah!!!!

Hopefully she won't see any posts regarding this!

Keep your fingers crossed!

Perhaps you could forward your message to a few of the other boxers in our area (with instructions not to share with Mrs Hat!)...or at least those we see on AQ.

Was already on it... Just didn't want people to feel like they were getting spammed!

Thanks!

Sue & I did something like this but for a good letterboxing friends who were getting married. They told us after, even though this was just a token gift besides our main gift, that the album of best wishes from the letterboxing community with their sig stamps was THE BEST wedding gift they received.

Good luck - I'm sure she'll love the idea!

I did a 50th BD surprise a couple of years ago and letterboxers sent their sig stamps on a festive postcard I provided. I sent an album to collect them. It was one of the nicest things he'd ever received. Prior to that we gave him a hiking stick (before letterboxing came to the US.) That was a "most thoughtful" gift.
