I left home for a couple of days to go singing on a choral tour (my quartet had a spot on the program, too!) and what to my wondering eyes awaited me on my return?? The Magical Mystery Tour of the Stampeaz PZ Kut-mobile!!

I laughed, I cried, I was speechless and I am still completely overwhelmed!! Many, many thanks to Wassamatta_u, ArtGekko, The Yorkshire Tortoise, Orion, Lock Wench, Celtic Quinn, Kitten Without Mittens, Daelphinus, Dixie, Shiloh, Trekkie Gal and Happy Papaya! I am awed and humbled!! You guys have been scheming for months!! Shiloh, you didn't give away anything when I saw you back in March, you sly one, you!! Needless to say, the finished print will be framed and hung with pride (and a lot of "Check this out -- you won't believe what I got!!" moments)! And what do you think? Is this destined to become a traveling event stamp when the PZ Kut-mobile becomes a reality and hits the trail?? :) Do I need to purchase an orange Honda Element and a bunch of different colors of auto paint so everyone can log in?? I'm thinkin' .... LOL! This was an absolute carving tour-de-force and the log book is a treasure -- how can I possibly let life get me down too badly when I have friends like you all over the globe?

Many, many thanks!!

With love and gratitude,

Webfoot

LOL! You are so welcome. I was honored to be asked to be a part of it. Of course, the original idea was to get it to you by Christmas. That is, LAST Christmas! Hehe Guess that didn't quite work out, but I think the finished product was worth it.

*whew* We were all a bit worried when you hadn't logged on in several days!

So glad it got there safe and sound! It has logged many, many miles (and a couple trans-Atlantic flights), so it could probably use an oil change and new tires before it starts traveling again. :-}

Wassamatta u has an incredible knack for hatching very fun ideas, and we were only too glad to help out with this one! Thanks again to everyone who helped - and kept it secret!

I don't have a scan of the final print (I could make one tonight), but the packaging of the box before it was mailed out is here http://www.atlasquest.com/gallery/viewalbum.html?gAlbumId=433 Webfoot's address went in the big blank spot below Bullwinkle. Can only imagine what your postman thought!

Cheers!

The Magical Mystery Tour of the Stampeaz PZ Kut-mobile!!

I'm in the dark here, but very curious. It's a postal box.... what does it all consist of? =) Apparently, nobody invited me to the party (probably since they all know I'm not into postals!), but I'm still curious to hear about it. Any photos going to be uploaded for the rest of us to see?

I could also - I guess whichever one of us gets to it first.

To answer Ryan's question about what exactly it is, it was a sheet of PZ Kut shaped to look like a bus (ok, really more like a truck). Then it was sent in turn to each of the participants who each carved their sig stamp (or the like) into a square.

I will try to take a couple pictures tonight when I get home from work, if none of the participants have them to post more quickly. AG has already posted a picture of the box, which I forgot to mention earlier. It was a real work of art in itself! So was the padded envelope inside! LOL! I knew that it was going to be an awesome package right from the start -- I just didn't have a clue *how* awesome!! :)

The padded envelope just kind of evolved as the sheet of PZ made the rounds. I thought it very appropriate and was happy to add Calvin & Hobbes to it.

I never thought of taking a photo of the actual PZ mobile before I shipped it off. We did really want to find a way for somebody to be there when you opened it, the way we were able to document Wassa's Boxers 'n' Briefs surprise, but we couldn't figure out a way to pull that one off. So take a photo of yourself looking surprised with the box, Webfoot! :)

*unzips lips*

Ahh.....at last, we can talk! I would love to see a photo of the actual stamp if it is possible to take one. It flew all the way over to me first, so I only got to see ArtGekko on the PZMobile. Of course I have a copy of the image — which is wonderful — well done ArtGekko for all the printing out.

Amazing that the huge sheet of PZ Kut travelled all around and remained in one piece :-)

Ryan, it all began principally with a conversation between Webfoot and Wassamatta-u about Webfoot acquiring an Orange PZ Kut Mobile to go around events in. Then Wassa and ArtGekko instigated a PLB with each of us sat in the window of a PZ Kut Mobile, and that is what we have been doing. Wassa of course is in the driving seat!

Ok everyone, here is a scan of the imprint. Webfoot will have to take a picture of the actual stamp and add it to the album. :)

ArtGekko did an absolutely incredible job on the logbook, the mailer, and of course the bus itself. It was actually rather intimidating to carve, since the whole thing is one big full slab of PZKut, knowing that if you screw up YOUR section, you screw up all the previous carvers too! Kudos to all the participants for a wonderful job!

The tracker for this was called "PM43530" - because the whole concept was based on Post Message #43530 - http://www.atlasquest.com/boards/message.html?gMsgId=43530

Just a little "thank you" to our favorite purveyor of letterboxing accoutrements, Webfoot!

It is a fabulous stamp!!! Webfoot should make it a highly prized travelling event stamp - but you only get it if you buy PZ Kut from the PZKMobile... ;-))

Great idea, and thanks for sharing the end product!!

No kidding! I bet you were the most intimidated of all, wassa, because you got it last, but there were only two carvers after me, so I was really afraid of messing up. :)

When I was asked to be a part of this project I was quite happy to participate. When I got the the thing and opened it...I thought ....OH CRAP I have to get this right on the first try....it's not like I can just toss it aside and start over. One of my test carves is now one of my personal travelers.

I'm glad you like it Webfoot. It was kinda fun knowing you were going to get it and keeping it a secret at T.A.G.1

Did you all notice what those two love birds Celtic Quinn and Kitten Without Mittens did with their allotted windows? They combined them and made one large image for themselves :-) There is even a little heart carved on the Kitten's tummy lol. I also loved the way KWM is reaching out to bat CQ's Celtic Knot Woollen Ball. So witty and very original!

Teeheehee...ye gods, we've been waiting so long for that to surface!
Yeah, we really really liked that carve for the both of us. It just made sense, since we both do all the postals and we're almost always stamping into them together...plus mailing together...So, shouldn't we have one stamp?
Now I'm going to carve that one again for more widespread use :D Kitten's going to carve a whole new signature stamp for us, too. That one should look really neat!

So glad you liked it, Webfoot! :D Thanks for all the fun you have provided for us!

Oh I am so glad you liked it, Webfoot! I was quite intimidated to carve such a small part of such a large slab....knowing that I couldn't afford to make a mistake! My signature stamp is so intricate that I was not sure I could shrink it down so I just put as much of my full size stamp in the window that I could.

Not sure if my pinup I stuck on the outside of the envelope made the trip all the way to you or not. Let me know if you didn't get it and I will stamp the image and send it to you!

Thanks for all you do for us prolific carvers!

I can imagine that everyone was a bit nervous about carving such a huge cooperative project -- I know that I would be!!

Yes, your pinup did make it safely all the way. (Is that one of those things that sounds more risque than it is?). I did take pictures of both sides of the envelope, but I didn't want to post them, just in case it would ruin the surprise for any of the stamps that were included and are probably being used in other boxes right now. :) If everybody says it's okay, I will be happy to post the final pictures of the envelope, too (addresses excluded, of course).

Hmmmm... I wonder how many stamps I have carved out of PZ Kut... It would be an interesting research project!

YT- that is now our combined signiture stamps. After the Mobile i loved my robot pouncing and wanted to replicate it. My new Signiture is a look-a-like robot to the one i carved there, adn cq's knot is also a ball of yarn that i am pouncing on! we both have carved them twice too so we both have the pair whenever we go out boxing seperatly.
cute isnt it:)
And webfoot- it was sooo hard to keep that a secret- and for so long! I am so glad you enjoyed it! We had so much fun carving it for you as a thank you!
