Vibrating chairs make me unhappy

I got to work today to heavy equipment in our parking lot. I have since learned the names of said equipment, there is an excavator and a bulldozer. Last night the city approved the financing or something of our parking lot (our building was just renovated and leased to us w/ option to buy in 5 years or something) and they showed up first thing this morning to work on it.

So all day, they're right outside my window. The entire building is shaking and my chair has been vibrating all day..... and not in a good way. My computer screen and keyboard have slowly moved all across my desk. Even the toilet is shaking. Honestly it's like being on a wooden rollercoaster for 8 1/2 hours now. I can no longer sit, I am standing at my desk at this point. Worst of all (I think), the dirt they're spreading smells like manure.

The jerk on the excavator won't give me a ride either.

I am so happy I will be out of here for 5 days, I don't think I could take it anymore. It was fun for the first hour. I'm afraid I won't be able to sit down for the rest of the night now.

There's another type of machine called a compactor. It looks sorta like a steamroller except that it vibrates. You're feeling the ground shaking as a by-product of what an excavator and bulldozer do, but with a compactor the primary objective is vibration! And it's a really uniform vibration, long and continuous. Things on shelves will just sorta walk off them.

Fortunately, I've never seen a compactor run more than a few hours. They run for a while and then test the soil, and when the soil compaction reaches some spec, they quit. It usually doesn't take that long.

Maybe you could offer a trade for a ride in your vibrating chair?

As if the title of this post wasn't titulating enough, then (as I'm reading this aloud to the Highlander) I get to THIS line!

Thing is, we were hacked off about this, too...selfish excavator guy! ROFLMAO!
