I haven’t used the app, but I’ve heard good things. I still like to print out the clues from the website and take them with me. As MissMoon mentioned, you can do a simple search right from the homepage or under the “Letterboxes” tab. You can use your hometown, nearby cities or favorite park.
As a first time letterboxer, I would recommend checking the last found date. You might have more success with boxes that were found recently. Older boxes are exciting to find too, but they sometimes go missing or take some extra work to find.
Looking forward to seeing your stamp on the trail someday.

Are you aware of the divorce rate amongst lesbian? It is the highest of any group. That’s just facts.
They were facts that were completely irrelevant to the conversation at hand. It's kind of like having a conversation about planting flowers, then someone comes in and mentions this "fact" that black people have a higher rate of poverty than white people and you're left wondering... What does this have to do with the price of tea in China? This just sounds like you happened to find a negative fact about lesbians and it was critically important to you that everyone knows it because it paints them in a poor light.
You have no idea what is in my heart, or my world.
No idea? Seems like you're pouring your heart out to the world on these message boards, so it gives everyone some idea what's in your heart. And honestly, I happen to agree that you sound like your heart is full of hate and intolerance toward trans people. I'm happy that you're more understanding toward gay people--not everyone has grown so accepting of gay people (or of various races and nationalities or which way you install a roll of toilet paper)--but if you have no hate toward trans people, you've done a spectacularly bad job of showing it.
What I have found in life is that people that go around shouting about hate or often the ones filled with it,
Yes, Gandhi and MLK Jr. are infamous for their hate speeches.
But because you think you are a gender other then what you were born , is delusional,,,, in my opinion
Are you also of the opinion that you can say anything, no matter how cruel or mean it is, but if you add "in my opinion" at the end, it's okay?
I hate to speak for Phoenix Rizing since she's perfectly capable of speaking for herself, but imagine for a moment that your brain could be transplanted into the body of a woman. I suspect you'll probably still "feel" like a man despite all the lady parts you would now have. You'd suddenly be a lesbian! I don't really think the brain is always in tune with the body. It might be a relatively rare condition overall, and from an outside point of view it might seem positively weird and alien, but so are other abnormalities like a missing limb or congenital twins. Everyone is just one chromosome away from being an entirely different gender, after all.
In my mind, being "anti-trans" is like being "anti-congential twins." Mother nature didn't do any favors for such a baby, but if the technology is there to help them and fix the problem, then let's fix the problem.
Are you suggesting that a twelve year old should be able to get drugs or surgery, they deem needed.
I have to admit, I'm a little conflicted about this idea myself. Twelve is awfully young to be making such life-changing decisions, but on the other hand, that's also like saying that you shouldn't let congenital twins be separated until after they've become full-grown adults and can make the decision with adult-sized brains. Things might be more complicated then. It might require more invasive and dangerous procedures. At the very least, I feel like there should be adults in the room to help with the decision-making process--but not those adults with preconceived notions (and that includes those who are both for and against gender-affirming care) which wouldn't be helpful at all.
In today’s culture, half the country, an awful lot of Hollywood think it’s “ cool” to be trans.
That is patently absurd. I could imagine that there are some attention-seeking people who might "become" trans just for the notoriety, but if "half" the country thought it was cool to be trans, half the country would be trans! From the statistics I've heard, it's probably closer to something like 1%.
I suspect that you're confusing it with the tolerance of trans people. Half the country is willing to tolerate trans people, willing to work with them rather than judge them. It doesn't mean that they think it's "cool" to be trans, but that they're willing to accept them for who they are.
All of a sudden the trans population has exploded a 100 fold.
Has it really, though? Maybe gender-affirming care is just more accessible now than before, and when you start from a very small base, even a minor change on an absolute basis can have a huge impact on a relative basis. It's a lot easier, for example, to increase your income by a 100 fold if you are only earning $100/year than if you're earning $1 million/year.
But in the end, why should it even matter to you if someone is trans? It's not your body. You telling others that they shouldn't be trans is like them telling you that you should be trans. (But to be fair, I'd defend your choice not to be trans just like I would defend a person's choice to be trans.)

Always read the comments from last letterboxers who found or didn’t find the box(which could be a magnet, pill bottle, pouch) most times type of container will be in your clues. Comments can tell you if a box is missing, hard to find, condition of trail, all kinds of helpful info.

I don’t use an app. Instead I go to the AtlasQuest website from the Chrome app. If you search for boxes in your county/city, be sure to click the Map Results button, and notice whether each location is an exact starting point (a park, cemetery, etc.) or just a catchall for boxes that could be anywhere in the city.

Sex change on children is NOT happening. Without ANY therapy, hormones are not provided let alone any surgeries. Children are not going to school and coming back the opposite gender. Where do you get that from? Faux?
Like many trans people, I have attempted suicide too and also know someone who took their life. I knew exactly what I was reading when I was 12, don't presume to think that I didn't know.
Trans and gay people have always existed, they both are finally being acknowleged that's why it seems that population of both is noticeably larger. Trans people make up less than 1% of the entire United States population.
Believe whatever you want, I really don't care what you think, you don't know me.

Hello all, I just looked through all the boards and I was wondering if anyone could give me some help finding a specific patch. ThimbeLinda is back active in boxing with me, and she was looking to replace missing patches. The one she really wants is the Nightboxing patch. She originally bought the patches, so I have no idea where she got them. Any help to point me in the right direction would be greatly appreciated.

i don't know much about the app others have mentioned, but i will say that i think one of my favorite parts of going out boxing when i get to is having to print out the clues and put away my phone. you can use the search under the 'letterboxes' tab at the top of the site to locate boxes in your area to go and find; there should be an option to filter.
as for what to carve, that is always the tough part, hm. i know me and a lot of other boxers i'm friends with have our favorite animals as our personal stamps, but my mom's is a character from her favorite childhood books, and another friend made theirs just to match their trailname (a cartoon ghost, since their trail name is ghostygremlin)
as the others have said, definitely check out the about letterboxing, code of conduct, and glossary pages on the home page; they'll explain all the basics and help you catch up with some of the specific terms you'll see floating around on the forums a lot :)

Trans and gay people have always existed, they both are finally being acknowleged that's why it seems that population of both is noticeably larger.
This is an important observation. And there are many parallel examples. For example, autism spectrum disorder is more prevalent today because of advances in diagnostics and a more clear understanding of the condition.
One thing that seems important to me regarding any discussion about sexual identity is tolerance and acceptance of individuals who do not fit the current trend or norm. If an adult who identifies as a woman chooses to live life as a man, and is content with their choice, they should not be pressured into transitioning. Because that would be wrong. Tolerance and acceptance should be universal; not just targeted to reinforce the current trend.

As a survivor fan, been watching since the beginning. I joined and Im looking forward to see if I can find the idol.
Only one in each state? ☹️. I hope they lets us know if it was found already.
Personally, I haven't been crazy about the 'new era', and I debated if I even wanted to watch anymore, just found it getting boring.
But now that Im in for finding an idol, I guess im in for another season...👍
But RIZGOD has got to go quickly before I start throwing popcorn at the TV. 🍿

You’re absolutely right,,,, I don’t know you, But I certainly would enjoy getting to know you. Just because we don’t think alike on this matter does not mean we can’t come together on other subject matter,
People use to be able to have difference of opinion and yet still function together. I’m not trying to to change your opinion, I know that will never happen, nor will mine, and if we can agree that these statements are true, then we ( people) have a chance.
I will be more then happy to to share with you , more of my story, But not on this platform. I do not need the unwanted aggravation . And before you go off with I brought it on myself,,,, I’m aware that I shared my opinion on a site that is predominantly liberals. And that was a calculated risk. I was really trying to to see if any other conservative might join the conversation. And not to prove anything or to sway any of you, But to just let you know ,,,, we are in this organization too. And don’t appreciate a lot of the political views being shared. And I’m pretty sure I already know the response I’ll get from that remark also. But like I said. If any of you want to speak to me on a personal level, I’m very open to that.
So you all have a very merry Christmas. And God bless you

did not the name "it's politics as usual" give you a hint that this board might talk about..... ummm...... politics? last i knew there were many varying views on this particular subject.

Only one in each state? ☹️. I hope they lets us know if it was found already.
I was reading the fine print some more and they mentioned that the winner will be randomly drawn from eligible entries, one drawing per state. So it sounds like there will be an idol there for multiple people to find. The official representative will guide you through the process of taking a photo with the idol, submitting that photo and registering your entry for the drawing. You are then entered to win a trip to a “special Survivor event”, which is the actual prize.
I would be a bit bummed if the idol had to stay there for the next finder. But maybe they will have several made, so each finder can take one home.
But RIZGOD has got to go quickly before I start throwing popcorn at the TV. 🍿
I have to admit, I am not fully up to date on the newest seasons so I had to ask my son who RIZGOD was. He just laughed. (Is that a bad sign.)

How cool is this! Our son (20yrs old) gave us a together gift for Christmas.
Wrapped up was a crossword puzzle and a clue to solve that lead to a letterbox with a stamp that he hand carved.. of the four of us!! (2AD, 1K, 1D) And it came with a first finder prize too!
How creative and thoughtful and fun. And for someone who doesn’t carve it’s pretty nice. 🫶🏻

I’m aware that I shared my opinion on a site that is predominantly liberals. And that was a calculated risk. I was really trying to to see if any other conservative might join the conversation.
I'm not really sure that the site is "predominately" liberals. There are conservatives who post here occasionally, but often they post misinformation and get called out for it. (Kids coming back from school as a different gender? Really? You believe that crap?) Then they tend to slink away and think we're just liberals who believe "fake news."
There are conservatives here, but the arguments they present tend to be... poor and it doesn't go well. Then they ignore this board (or leave AQ completely) since naturally, people prefer to be surrounded by others who think like they do.
But given the terrible poll numbers that Trump has, pretty much any randomly selected group of people are going to skew to the left.
Not that I think everyone here is "pro-liberal". I'm not particularly a fan of the democrats myself, but I'll usually vote that way because I consider it the lesser of two evils. As a whole, I consider myself independent.
I've been registered as both a republican and democrat, and nowadays choose no political affiliation. I've voted for both republicans and democrats. (I'd only "waste" a vote for other parties if neither candidate has nothing good to bring to the table.)
I've always wanted people who could express good reasons to support conservative causes here, but it tends to flame out when their opinions are based on nothing but "feelings" and fake news that comes across their Facebook pages.
And even you seem to be pulling back yourself, resorting to how you "feel" rather than actual stats to support your beliefs. ("It's my opinion, so there!" does not a convincing argument make.)
But that's understandable. You might feel a certain way in your core, but it's often difficult to articulate why much less support your view with real facts.
But I think that's why more conservatives don't post here. A lot of conservative causes tend to be supported by fake or misleading news, and those will (and should be) called out. All fake and misleading news should be called out--I'm not just refering to conservative causes.
And without that, there's not much left to post. It's hard to be a conservative nowadays. So many conservatives sabotage your views with racist undertones and fake news!

My first find was by Neet, who has since passed away. 🙏Box #203731
Though I never met her, I am planning on driving there and checking on the box today, that's if the snow isn't to bad.
A little over 6,000 boxes found from miles of hiking trails and picking up a 'drive by' if I was passing through. I have often even found myself in the dark night in the middle of the woods because I needed to find that 'last one'.
I have often asked myself, what the hell is wrong with me? Has this become an addiction? I think the second question answered my own first question.
But what trumps all this are the people that I have met that are as crazy as I am, that are also looking for little boxes in the middle of the woods.
They are also the most welcoming and supportive group of people that I have come across. Plus, the most helpful.
So this post is just a big thank you to everyone.
