That would be my guess.

The recipient (or the sherriff) opened the cardboard mailer and was extremely confused. The sherriff from Union county called the sherriff in my county and gave them my address. She drove by and gave me the phone number in Union county to call. So I called the number. It was the dispatcher and she put me through to the Union county sherriff's patrol car. He asked if I knew anything about it. I explained what it was and he asked when I could come get it.
I guess the scarry part was that I used the person's trail name on the package. And I didn't know their real name.

What a nice inturruption of my dinner. (Well, at least it wasn't about my brother being in jail. That was my first thought!)

Hey M&8X---can you hear all of us out here as we each read your posts---gasping and sucking in air?! It makes me want to go leave a note for my mail carrier letting him know what my trail name is and a mini tutorial on letterboxing in a proactive (after the fact) sort of way?! This story definitely tops yours and Eagle Eye's removing of the cemetary gate story?! You have a brand new TOW story to share next time that question comes around?!

We will all come vouch for you in necessary!!!

Did you two end up coming out okay with funds after the Cluez-In?? I hope you are not having to pay for all of this shipping after the fact out of your own pocket, are you? Please let us know. I know there are many of us who would be more than willing to chip in.

Most of the people who loaned me letterboxes for the event also sent money for its return postage. So, we're good.

I think Ryan needs to add a line to his AQ Statistics page; Number of Encounters with the Authorities (regarding letterboxing): ___.
I think Jim and I are up to 4(?) now.
(That may sound bad, but it could be a lot more...trust me.)

I was wondering about the AQ statistics. How do I log mosquito bites and ticks?

Yeah, me too....and where's the place to log sunburns...or discuss them?

Spent the day at 10,000 feet actually not boxing - sigh!. I watched Donkey races, gravity races, Chicken Poop Bingo...and my friend gamble all their money away in Cripple Creek, CO. All I got was this lousy sunburn....oh, and "that" song stuck in my head....

Since I need to get my boxes from you yet (I think) maybe I could get up there this week or have the hubby swing by on his way from work. Let me know what you come up with!

We certainly will have story time!
You'll just need to clarify, which story involving the authorities? The one with the park ranger or the one with the police.
We have some other stories too, that were near misses. Or some that don't involve any authorities/illegalities, but are just plain funny.
I swear...one day I want to publish a "Chicken Soup for the Letterboxer's Soul" type of book. There're some good stories out there!

This is hilarious, especially since I haven't been caught yet. So I'm curious, it was 68 in a what? Hopefully not 10 like Bec.
