****This box has been reported as missing by several people, so I am officially retiring it.****

Schlitterbahn is the German word meaning “slippery road,” and how appropriate a name for one of the top water parks in the world. The park originally opened in 1979 with 4 water slides along the Comal River by Bob and Billye Henry. There are two parts of the park in New Braunfels and one of the most famous rides is the uphill water coaster called the Master Blaster. This ride has often been voted as the best water ride in the US by travel publications and has even made an appearance on the Travel Channel. Schlitterbahn is widely considered to be the best waterpark in the world and has been named so by the Travel Channel. There are now 3 Schlitterbahns in Texas and a fourth one is scheduled to be opening in Kansas.

To the Letterbox
Due to the high traffic and clean landscape at Schlitterbahn park, I decided to place this box in Landa Park down the road. It is a beautiful park. Find your way to a family of German settlers that look to your north. Near this family you will find the Founder’s Oak tree that has guided many people over the years. From the oak look around and you will find a wooden building that looks different from the stone buildings. Walk to that wooden building and you will soon find that it is a dance slab with a stage. Go to the stage and look to the back of the stage. Walk to your left towards the back of the stage. There will be some steps that go up to the stage. Go past the steps to where the back of the stage meets the concrete slab. The Schlitterbahn box is located under 3 or 4 rocks under the slab.
