Just outside the hamlet of Pierrepont Manor is a relic of a by-gone era. This quaint relic has been restored and is used on occasion for educational purposes.
Directions:
From I-81 : Take Exit 40 (Pierrepont Manor / Ellisburg). Turn onto Rt 193 East toward Pierrepont Manor. At the intersection cross Rt 11 (straight”ish”) onto Rt 91 (Lorraine Rd). Travel 2.1 miles and carefully pull your car as far onto the shoulder as possible and park.
Clues:
Get out your camera and take some pictures (or at least pretend to) while checking this out. Walk around to the back . As you face the privy, look over your right shoulder at the further corner and walk to it. A small flat leaning stone disguises a hole in the foundation. Reach inside* to find District No. 10! (* Put a glove on first or bring some tongs)
