This box is part of the "Shop Local, Shop Small" series.
Unfortunately 2, 3, 4 and 5 are missing. The remaining two are worth a visit!
Some of these boxes may not be available on Sunday or before noon on weekdays.
#1 Hettie and Hercule (Norasta) Your quest starts on Brock Street under the big faucet, between Wellington & King Sts. It should be obvious that Hercule, Hettie, Sherlock, Miss Marple, Phil Marlowe and Ellery hang out here. Go in, find Hettie and you’ll find Hercule.
#2 MISSING Walk Up and Smell the Coffee (Norasta) As the box name says, head across the street and follow your nose to the home of fine coffee and other culinary delights. Once inside check out the yummy stuff and head to the back room where gift baskets are born. Look for the news article about the store, 1959. Look up. See the Cooke’s travel mug? You prize is in there!
#3 MISSING Kingston LB (Patonkers) leave the yummy stuff turn right and right again into the alley where one of Kingston’s many ghosts is frequently spotted. Pass under the uncomfortable clothing overhead and turn right where the path splits (at the back of Chez Piggy patio). Right down the narrow passageway to a verdant surprise on your left. Look behind the white downspout for your city hall souvenir. This space maintained by Earth to Spirit, a really cool store, right next door.
Now make your way to Princess St
#4 MISSING Where the Wild Things Are (Trailfeathers) - it’s odd that wild things should be hanging around on one of the most relaxing corners on Princess St. Princess at Bagot, in a really novel location. Go in and ask for the blue leopard. Staff keep him tied up for customer safety.
#5 MISSING Star Wars Geek (Trailfeathers) You’ll find the geek in a letterboxer's favourite stores - Wallack's Art supplies. Almost right beside a favourite fast food, cheap good pizza. A match made in heaven. To get the Geek go in and ask “Is the Star Wars Geek here?” UPDATE _NOV 2006, staff unable to find LB but this may be temporary....
#6 Tina Turner (Norasta) Continue heading west on Princess to Brian’s Record Option, just past Barrie St. A trip into Brian’s is A TRIP, MAN! Brian has old LP’s, if he doesn’t have it you don’t need it! Tina is in the children’s LP section. Putting her in the Rock section would be just too easy.
