Update September 1 2019 . Sign ups are closed . We still have plenty of room for tents on the group site and your welcome to camp with us in the group site , however you will need to get your OWN SPOT for parking your car . The best sites to reserve which are closest to the group area are 1-10
If you’d still like to come camp and eat with us I’m asking for a 10$ donation per person to cover food for Friday and Saturday night , or just 5$ for one night . If you would like to camp but bring your own food , no donation is required . YOU MUST LET ME KNOW IF YOUR COMING so I can count you in or out for food !

I have secured a group camping site for us

Come join us at Oneil Regional Park in Trabuco Canyon Ca. on October 18-20 2019 (next year)Details to follow but this is what I know so far :
Check in Friday after 230 pm
Check out sunday by 11am
Group site B
Campground has free hot showers ( but no electricity in the bathrooms for hairdryers )

Come camp one night or two , completely upto you .
Cost 15$ per person includes
Park entry
Camping
And dinner mains on Friday and Saturday night ( potluck sides )
Raffle tickets and prizes
Parking for 1 car

Event will be he in our camp site as a base on Saturday from 9-4 but if your camping you get your clues earlier so your free to box as soon as you wish on sat .

Also we will have a scavenger hunt type thing Saturday night

We hope to see you there !

I had one member ask if they needed to reserve their own spot - I guess I was unclear so if anyone is wondering I have secured a group camping spot so we are all together ❤️ The 15$ per petson fee gets paid to me 45 days before the event so I can cover some of the cost fore the site .

Just confirming everyone signed up on this message Is actually planning on camping at Oneil and not just coming for the event in the day time -
If you are planning on camping can you please message me back and let me know how many vehicles you will be bringing - we have a limited amount of parking and I’m trying to get a rough headcount ... also if you plan to camp with a trailer Instead of a tent can you please let me know this as well

I’m open to meal suggestions for both nights so if you have some ideas shoot them my way !
Also if your NOT coming Friday to camp or will be in after 630 pm can you let me know , I need to sort parking spaces and Friday night dinner - parking is limited so I will need to get a Friday head count for parking ( I may need to purchase extra parking spots ) and need a general idea on meal size

Happy August!!!! Where has the time gone ? The event will be here sooner than we know it ( 79 days to be exact ). We have about 18 sign ups for camping and I could not be happier ! I’m so looking forward to spending time with all of you ! I need to collect payment by Sept 1 ( don’t worry there’s lots of time , this is just a reminder so you can start planning for it ) in order to secure the spot. The cost will be 15$ pp and kids will be free ....i think there’s only a couple kids coming , but if you plan on bringing kids would you please let me know. I would like to do a little goodie bag for them, and want to make sure I’ve got everyone included. Don’t worry there will be goody bags for all you big kids as well :-) I’m thinking PayPal would be the easiest for payment as I’m already set up , but if you need to pay in another form please let me know so that we can work it out . Your fee will include dinner mains for Friday and Saturday nights , camping for both nights and parking . We will also have a raffle and you’ll get extra tickets for that if your camping . We will do some sort of night time scavenger hunt / boxing type thing on Saturday night after dinner . All in all a fun time that I hope can turn into a yearly event . Thank you all for signing up ! Again I don’t need payment until September 1 but I wanted to send out the reminder so that everyone had a heads up . You’re certainly welcome to pay anytime between now and then .

Hi all
Just a friendly reminder I need payment by the 1st ... that’s just a week and day away
If you’ve contacted me for e mail address for PayPal , made payment and NOT received confirmation from me that I got it , it didn’t go through

Also ... we will be having spaghetti dinner one evening with salad and bread ( meatless sauce will be available for vegetarians or those who don’t like meat ) and hamburgers and hotdogs another night - we still need sides for that night , so if you’d like to bring a side for that night please sign up. I’ve got all of the silverware and paper goods handled . If your vegetarian please let me know so we can figure out something for you for dinner that night , or simply bring what you like

We will be celebrating a couple of cake days and birthdays as well so we will have cake one night .

I’m trying to decide if everyone will be happy with my food choices , spaghetti with meat sauce salad and bread on Friday and hamburgers and hotdogs Sunday
Can EVERYONE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE send me a message and let me know what you’d like - just a quick A, B or C or D is fine

A- hamburgers and hotdogs both nights I’m camping make it simple

B- spaghetti dinner Friday and hamburgers and hotdogs Saturday heck yes let’s do this thing !

C- I won’t be there Friday night for dinner at 6 darn it !

D- other ( let me know so we can accommodate you )

It’s been tough trying to figure how much food to buy , so this is sort of a head count for Friday night as well

Hi gang
The park is giving me grief on the parking for the event , I’m trying to get it straightened out with the group guy but in the meantime I’m just curious if anyone is willing to park their car off site , it would be in a secure spot but if they don’t budge we might have to do this with a couple cars so I’m putting it out there now to see who would be willing ?

We are in group site B
When you come in the gate tell them you are with Group site B They will give you a parking pass. You do not have to pay to park

We still need dinner sides guys so please sign up if you haven’t Already

Dinner will be served on Friday at 6 PM and Saturday at 6 pm
Please let me know if you will not be there for dinner Friday
You’re on your own for breakfast and lunch so bring your camp stoves or whatever you want Bring your own water soda etc for the weekend . Also Alcohol is prohibited in the park But isn’t that what they make solo cups for?

Nighttime letterboxing on Saturday after dinner

Water is available at the site and free hot showers are close by at the bathrooms. There are no electrical outlets in the bathroom and there is no electricity at the site .

If someone could bring a pop-up canopy for shade please let me know

There is still plenty of room in the park for boxes. If you’d like to bring boxes or a box to plant you’ll receive one raffle ticket for each box you bring and plant

Oct 25, 2019: Thanks again everyone
Hey everyone,
My ankle surgery is over and I am back to the real world. I just wanted to thank each and everyone of you who came and camped with us :-) it was so much fun having everyone there camping , eating lots of good food and letterboxing ! I think everyone probably equally enjoyed the night time box as well with the cool witches brew at the end :-) nothing like sending a large group out together, and of course giving the key to the Federal building to the newbie! I think that Sam fits in with our group just great!
I hope to make this an annual event . I think we had a pretty good turnout considering exclamation anyways thanks to all who came, helped plant boxes, helped cook meals, and helped keep me sane ! You guys are seriously the best :-).
