Description
Please come and join The Grateful Letterboxers for another week of "adventures and fun" in 2017 at our 11th annual event! The theme this year will be "The Eleven!". Trackers and more details will be posted soon. Once again we plan to take over a large portion of Camp Lorraine, located at the heart of Harold Parker State Forest in Andover MA. Stay for a whole week and attempt to get every letterbox in town, or just come for a long weekend of fun! The campsites are all very nice and about $20 per night for up to 4 people or one family. Campsites can be reserved 6 months in advance, so we'll remind everyone in January. We plan to have campfire socials, hot dog roasts, s'more toasts, night boxing and other assorted Grateful fun! There will be boxes at all GLb campsites and a few more new creations out on the trails. On Saturday we will be gathering on Grateful Row for a "BYO Picnic Lunch and Stamp Exchange" - Time to be announced! Stay tuned for more details, but clear your calendars now and save these dates!!!If you can't work out a camping trip, you can visit for just the day. Sign-up for the "Group" site so that you may come and go anytime you wish! Seriously - you don't want to miss all the camping festivities and Night boxing! Make an effort to join the campers for at least a two, three or four day stay!!!
Jan 13, 2017: Reserve your campsite!
If you plan to stay 3 or more nights, you can reserve your site now! If staying only Friday and Saturday nights, you can reserve starting tomorrow at 9AM. Zess has also reserved the group site for Thurs-Sat. Contact Sherral directly if you'd like to stay there. If you plan on daytripping, please sign up for the group site so you can enjoy the campsite boxes, campfire fun and nightboxing too! Here's a link for Camp Lorraine reservations:

May 11, 2017: Grateful Camping
Hello Grateful Campers!!!
It's really honestly true ~ The Eleven is quickly on the horizon! I'm sooooo looking forward to the warmth and frolicking! Time for me to be putting together the Camping Address list. I've posted on the event site the beginning of the list. (I might have made a couple assumptions, so correct me if I am mistake.)
If you are camping and would like to be on the list, please send to me:
1. Trailname(s)
2. Site number
3. Which nights you are camping
If you would like to camp on the Group site, get in touch with me & I can add you to the list and answer any questions you might have. This costs $10 per night per tent.
If you wish to be a daytripper, but you want to stay at the campground after 8pm (e.g., to do nightboxing, hang out at the campfire), I can register you at the Group site so you will have a car tag to stay past closing. This is $10 per night per car. If you do not want to stay past 8pm, you can get a day pass at the registration booth when you arrive at the campground (not sure the cost, but it's probably a bit cheaper).
Peace and patience,
~zess~
Jul 6, 2017: Camping!
Hello Grateful Friends!!
A BIG apology to all of you who contacted me via AQ-mail in the last month & did not hear back from me. I have no good excuse ~ I have been derelict in my duties. BUT, I'm here now to "cram!" I've updated the Campground Address list on the event page. Please check to be sure you are there and I got the info correct. If not, please send to me:
1. Campsite
2. Trailname(s)
3. Nights you plan to be camping (or days you plan to daytrip)
There is still plenty of space at the group site!! There are a few folks who might be signing up yet, but even so, still LOTS of space! So, if you weren't planning to camp, I think now is a good time to change your mind and decide to come!! You won't regret it!!!!
I'm getting more excited by the moment. Can't wait to see everyone!
~zess~
Jul 6, 2017: Time to crank it up....... to Eleven!
Howdy folks!
The event is just days away and we hope you're all getting very excited! Here are a few things to note:
Clues are mostly completed and will be available by Sunday. If you are arriving early and/or unable to print clues, please AQmail us with your dates and site # so we can hand deliver whatever is needed! The clues this year will bring you to many different locations. We highly recommend searching out some boxes from the previous years.
Volunteers are needed to set up the Yard bombing and assist with Night boxing! If you can help with either of those, PLEASE let us know in advance! Sits 'n Knits and Tiggermama could not attend this year, so we are short on assistance. The yarn material will be ready for hanging anytime(the earlier the better!). All night boxes will be ready to go - We'll just need help placing and collecting those on Friday and Saturday nights.
Please let us know your site #s if you're not already on the list. ALL daytrippers should sign-up with the group site. This will allow you to access all of Harold Parker and the campgrounds without additional summertime parking fees.
Several people have found the list of previous boxes a bit daunting to peruse. For those who have missed the other annual events, perhaps try to get something from past years. Here are just a handful of suggestions:
'17 The Eleven - Dr Who & Eleven Miracles (both posted soon)
'16 Skeletons - Skeleton Crew, Fructose Faces (in Campground)
'15 The Wheel - Color Wheel, Grateful Gears, Cruisin' In Style (just outside of Harold Parker)
'14 Dark Star - Dark Star Wars, Dark Star Trek
'13 Eyes of the World - Escher #1, #2
'12 Ship of Fools - Fool's Gold, Foolin' Around
'11 Terrapin Station - Mostly retired
'10 Sunshine Daydream - Shakedown Street, Box of Rain
'09 Tune In and Toon out - Hirschfeld Series, Tune In (1st and 2nd set)
'08 Grateful Tread - Yellow Submarine, So many roads
Other oldies worth a try: Dragon's Lair (a personal favorite), Jigsaw Puzzle(our 1st plant!)
Of course there are MANY other fantastic selections, so choose whatever suits your fancy! If you have ANY questions or concerns, feel free to contact us directly and we'll help out as best possible.
See you all in Andover very soon - Hope you have a Grateful Stay!!! ;o)
Jul 7, 2017: Saturday BYO Picnic and Door Prizes - Harold Parker Map!!!
Every year we have a group BYO picnic on Saturday followed by a FREE door prize giveaway! PLEASE bring donations, nothing is too small!!! Everyone present will recieve a free ticket. In previous years, people were so generous that EVERYONE received a prize! We'd like to continue that tradition so bring what you can and drop it off at the event table on Grateful Row (at #305). The picnic will start at 1 PM, followed by door prizes at 2. Bring your lunch and a chair to Grateful Row and join in on the party! We will provide the music - you provide the Grateful company!!! ;o)
Also, We recommend that you print up a couple of copies of the Harold Parker State Forest map! Keep one for reference, and use others to mark and note locations of interest:

......... "You'll be glad ya did!"
Jul 8, 2017: Campground Address List
I've updated the list based on AQmail I've received in the last two days. Don't forget to tell me your info so people can easily find you!!!!
Trailname, campsite #, nights you'll be camping
Also, if you are daytripping and want to stay past 8pm (for nightboxing and/or campfire festivities), we recommend you register with the group site!! That's $10 per day, per car. I dk the fee you'd pay for the day, but it's probably right around that price, and you'll need to leave by 8:00.
Looking forward to seeing everyone there!! And please understand that my memory for both names and faces is terrible, but if you remind me of your trailname, I'll be able to remember everything I know about you! :-)
~zess~

Jul 9, 2017: Dr Who - clue adjustment
There was some minor confusion with the clues for box #2, so we modified them slightly. Update your clue pages before you head out on the trails.
2 - Travel time path 340 light-years to the edge of a parallel universe where time becomes fluid. Follow 25 light-years, then 360 light-years and bending around the parallel universe to intersection of time paths on Point. Voyage 360 Light-years on fading time path and cross the small time stream. Here, travel 30 light-years and 7 leaps to release The Second Doctor.
Jul 10, 2017: Dr Who series - Box #3 changed!
Do to a conflict, Dr Who box #3 has been relocated and the clues are now adjusted as follows :
"3 - Journey 300 light-years to next Point, then 330 light-years further. Travel along the edge of a parallel universe where your can see yourself. Continue until the next time path intersects, then head out 90 light-years. At next intersection, trek 360 light-years. Next time path intersection is at Planet Alrakis (Classified Planet Type A17). Follow 50 light-years upward to top time path intersection. Travel 70 light-years and take 20 leaps to save The Third Doctor from the clutches of twin Cybermen!"
Please reprint the clues or adjust your copy to match!!! ;o)
