I have found most wood backed stamps seem to warp in the weather and often make it difficult to get a good image, especially larger stamps.

If your wood warps, you used the wrong wood. Use oak.

If your stamped image has gaps in it, you forgot to include a layer of foam between the rubber and the wood. Something soft like pipe insulation tape is called for.

After the suggestion of several of you, I bought foam to mount some stamps. Then I was not sure what to use as an adhesive. I bought and used Gorilla Glue. It seems to gift up when it dries. What do you use?

I use gorilla glue. Just be sure to use a THIN layer. They mean it.

I've used Gorilla glue and it seemed to work at first, but then I got reports of the foam coming off the stamps. I switched to E6000 and love it. I think that's my go-to glue now.

What do you use to mount a stamp?

I assume this is all accomplished with the consent of the stamp

I agree with Kirbert, if your wood warps it’s the wrong kind of wood. I have a sheet of some thin pressboard that works great. Doublesided tape insures even pressings.

I use contact cement (the stuff used for laying tile flooring), it stinks, but is really permanent, and I've never had problems with it coming apart, and I always have some around the house.
