Hey, that calls for a series! At Four Corners you could plant a 4-box series that catches all four states, and at every other "triple point" (there are LOTS of those!) a 3-box series could be planted that catches all three states. There could be an entire series of these series.

Heck, one of those triple points isn't far from me -- although there is a body of water involved, so you'd have to be driving to get all three.

Anybody have any good idea what stamp images would be appropriate for such a series? Little outlines of the state map?

Heck, I'll be in the vicinity of two or three more triple points on my trip starting next week. No time left to carve stamps for those, though.

We are lifetime premium members and were when we listed the finds originally. We have found boxes in all 50 states. The stats show 50: 48 states, DC, and mystery. We would love to have the correct total reflected. We are hoping to finish placing in all 50 states this next week, and hope those stats will show as well. It is just a personal satisfaction issue.

You could do the outlines, but then you'd get duplicate images. What you could do is three different things (one in each box) that the three states have in common. This would (in theory) give different items for each three-state combination.

Yes!

Stamps of each state in the shape of the state so you can stamp them all together on one page to create the four or three corners.

That would be cool!

Looks like you need to go back to those states and find a box listed on AQ so your stats will show all 50 states. Road Trip!

I wish that I could do that for you. And that would be a pretty long road trip for you. Maybe the ole turtle can work something out for you.

Is there any way, as a premium member, you could add a custom location to your unlisted finds? That would do it.

Would it be possible to include the location data for unlisted boxes in order to make those statistics more accurate?

While I actually understand and appreciate your goal, especially as someone who has checked off a lot of states as well, it completely defeats the point of "unlisted" if you have other options.

There is enough negative feedback from people that AQ allows unlisted in the first place, but to also be allowed to include the state then you are essentially providing even more specifics about a box that the planter may not have wanted listed in the first place.

Yes, I realize many people include all that in their unlisted listing, but that is an entirely different topic. They are choosing to possibly violate the wishes of the planter in that case, but it is not on AQ, that in on the lister.

There is a chance we might do another road trip East in a year or two. Guess we can add more in those places we need. Until then, we have the satisfaction of knowing we fulfilled that goal.

There is one other idea that might work: Contact the placers of those boxes and convince them to crosslist them on AQ. Then you could convert the listing from an "other" to a "traditional box". Best of all, nobody needs to leave the comfort of their living room.
