your reply sounded a little harsh

Just to be clear, that was posted by someone else.

To those who seem to feel that no one should ever complain or find issues with the site......that doesn't mean we don't recognize the work involved. It just means we have legitimate concerns and opinions and are free to express them.

If the discussion bores you, feel free to make use of the ignore button. I've certainly used it often enough when the same subjects have been gone over ad infinitum over the years.

Today boxes can be listed on AtlasQuest to be counted as part of tomorrow's PAL event. To be counted by the widget the plant date needs to be changed to May 24 and there must be no restrictions on the box. This year, for once, my letterbox plant for PAL day will count for my home state.

I am just glad to have a hobby that is essentially free

I wish it *was* free. lol!!!!

Gas
Tolls
Carving material
carving tools
logbooks
ink
containers
Premium Membership (for some)
Not to mention the occasional hotel room when going to events/or campground fees

Not complaining, or I wouldn't have been doing it since 2004 but I don't think there is such a thing as a truly free hobby.

Hummm.....airfare and rental car for trip to L & B in Oregon in 2008. lol

The list goes on.....lol

Nuttin' is free in dis world! lol

Dinosaurs. Already completed, did a trip up to Saskatchewan for a few days and stopped in Drumheller AB on the way home to Cranbrook... The Royal Tyrell Museum is full of the creatures... not to mention the town of Drumheller itself...

Managed to find a few boxes to add to my meager collection as well... Two were in Unknown status for years... but two more resisted my efforts although one or both might be there... and one I simply have forgotten to look for until after driving by...

Fun trip... may others fulfill their expectations.

Edit: What happened to the formatting control list?
Found it... but I meant on the post screen...

Not even a restriction to "Everybody"?

Exactly--the restriction box must be none or the widget won't count it. That being said, some of my PAL boxes in the past have not been widget worthy.

If you put a restriction on it by using the dependency feature, the widget won't count it as part of a state's total. That's the exact same reason some of my past PAL boxes haven't counted. But it will count in the PAL Day total. That's okay because I love bonus boxes more than PAL Day boxes on the widget.

I saw two turtles today. One small guy was on a floating log when a much larger guy tried to join him on the log. Little guy flipped off the spinning log and the big guy was too big for the log and couldn't climb aboard. It was a funny sight to see.

Happy turtle day, Ryan!

Exploring new places! (Can’t figure out how to make the ‘E’ bold on my iPad!)

And, maybe, if I am lucky, going to EAA Airventure in July, the world’s largest aviation get together! (Dunno, flying from San Francisco to Oshkosh, WI in a tiny plane takes days...)

We are at the starting line of summer! Enjoy!

Happy PAL Day. https://www.atlasquest.com/showinfo.php?eventId=4176
If you can't get out to plant on Friday 24th, your plants still will be counted by the widget if you plant Saturday 25th. But you'll have to be sure that when you activate your letterbox plants, that you change the plant date to May 24th. Also the widget only counts letterboxes that have none for restrictions on the restriction page--that's the default so just don't change anything on the restrictions page, at least not until after PAL Day.

That's what I was about... they took the little tag that offered help with markup codes away...

BTW two asterisks ** before and after the target letter group will do the bold..

You can find the list under your message preferences.. that is where I found it...

you can set for HTML or Wiki formats.

We'd be interested depending on the when and where. I've been out of boxing for about 10 years and just ran across my supplies and logbooks again.
We letterboxed quite a bit when my kids were young (323 finds and about 30 boxes placed). But life got busy. I'm a school teacher and hoping to hunt a bit this summer.

Junctions - Junctions of trails to choose from when following clues. Do I go left or right? Did the clue writer know their left from their right? Do I know my left from my right? And, which way is north?
