I use coin pages (like pages for trading cards, but coin sized squares instead). That is what I currently do as I can also put geocoins in pages in the same binder, but I am thinking of changing.

I have been cutting down some large flats to make the letter size.

Just a reminder to keep in mind that if you are making it fit the “letter size” requirements, the total thickness cannot exceed 1/4”. The thickness for the larger “flats” is up to 3/4”.

Is anyone else having trouble with the funny button on the message boards? All of the other buttons work fine, but when I hit the funny button, it does nothing, and that's not funny!

You mean the "Slap Wassa Silly" button?
It registers as a vote, but doesn't always go bold or increase the count immediately, IF the "Funny" tag has been replaced by a different string (such as, oh, "Slap Wassa Silly").

Most people won't understand what I am saying. I'm kinda used to that.

Yes!!

So the flat mailers need to be AT LEAST 6 1/8 x 11 1/2 inches. Otherwise they ship as a letter

We had a ring that was like a thin metal cable with ends that screwed closed. I think that we got it from Krikster. Anyway, our path tags were on the ring, and that was looped around the handle of our letterboxing bag. I am not sure when it was removed from the bag, but, sadly, the ring and all of our path tags have disappeared. I did like having them hanging like that. 😃

Yep, that's the one.

But several of my other buttons are 'special' (like moo instead of hug), and those work immediately. Why doesn't Slap Wassa Silly? Is it perhaps because you don't want to be slapped silly (no matter how much you deserve it)??

Except it really doesn't work, and I wasn't actually trying to be funny. I just want to be able to use the button and have it work like all of the other ones!

Event stamps vs traditional...should I change a type?

Hi everybody! We have a series that we created for an event several years ago and occasionally lend out. We are sending it out again where it might be used as a planted series.
Should I change the type of box that it is? (From “event” to “traditional “). Also, would changing the type be as simple as editing the box?
I would love some opinions!
Thanks!

Box types cannot be changed. You would have to retire the event listing and relist the series as traditional boxes.

Large businesses that support LB?

Hi everybody! (I have yet another question...)

Does anyone know of large companies that support Letterboxing (I know LLBean does-the LLBean event every year for the last several years in Maine, also the Quality Inn in Freeport-connected with the LLBean event, too).
Any others that you can think of? I know MANY small businesses have boxes (including restaurants, libraries, etc), but I need some names of more national places.
Thanks!

Ok, try it now! It was the space between the "Slap Wassa Silly" words that was the problem.

Heck, EVERYONE try it, so we can be SURE that the Funny button works... go ahead, click the Funny button, right on this post. Test it out. *whistling innocently*

Since you're lending the series, let the planter of this event list it as a a traditional series with limited time, and then retire their listing after the event. They can still give credit to you for creating the series. If they give the series a somewhat different title, the finders will get it recorded correctly, too.

Sir, have you no shame?

“But my shame was on display…” said Wassamatta u
“On display? I eventually had to go down to the cellar to find it.”
“That’s the display department.”
“With a flashlight.”
“Ah, well, the lights had probably gone.”
“So had the stairs.”
“But look, you found my shame, didn’t you?”
“Yes,” said Trekkie Gal, “yes I did. It was on display in the bottom of a locked filing cabinet stuck in a disused lavatory with a sign on the door saying ‘Beware of the Lion.”

Thank you Mr. Adams.

I don't believe that it's really necessary to retire the event listing. The boxes could just be listed again as traditional boxes. That would throw off the carve count, however, because AQ would think that it's two different sets of stamps.

It's not necessary, no. But if the stamps are no longer going to be event stamps, why would you leave the event listing active?

Remanufactured Toner

So, I have been having problems with the acetone transfer with toner from the last 2 remanufactured toner cartridges for my HP printer. The current black I have purchased from this vendor previously and didn't have any problems, so I purchased the latest cartridge from them. But this one the toner just isn't transferring or barely transfers. Does anyone have any recommendations for remanufactured HP replacements? I just can't afford a genuine HP cartridge at over $100.
