Moleskine Art Plus Sketchbook in the large 5" x 8.25" trim size

I use this too. I can usually get three stamps along the left margin of each page with room beside each stamp to record the name of the stamp, planter (and carver, if different), location, date planted, and date found.

I've been planning for our summer trip around Lake Superior and Darrell said, "it will only take a couple days." Hahaha. Not with all the letterboxing stops I'm finding. I think I will drive.

Estella and I were going to get your boxes when I got off work yesterday. But the snow and rain drove us away.
I hate wet feet. . . Just remembered my newest letterboxing supply rain boots. They were only $13 at Menards. Ugly but my size, and will really clash with my super cool tie dyed jeans. Oh well.

this video

It is a very good tutorial. There are others on AQ under "Toolbox". I punch my signatures from the inside out. Measure and mark one signature and use it as a template for the rest of the signatures. Place a sheet of foam to punch into through the paper. Old Reader's Digest books are a good size for covers. For paper I use Cougar brand, 11"X17" , smooth, Text, 100lb, White from a print shop. The paper is folded twice making four page signature. The top fold is trimmed off and edge to fit the cover. If they do not have this text paper use "cover" paper.

Look for a tri-access one at a good price. Don't use a mechanical one. You want to get accurate step counts :)

We had a series planted and when we went to go check on them, someone had SOAKED the stamps in ink. I mean, there was ink everywhere inside the baggies that the stamps were in, all over the felt that we had wrapped them in and the stamps were still partially wet. It was obnoxious. So, for etiquette purposes, I'd recommend wiping the stamp down if you happen to get it ridiculous inky, but aside from that, people usually have a towel or piece of felt that the stamp comes wrapped in, so you should be okay to just leave it as is. However, I always carry wet-one wipies with me whenever I box - primarily because I'm a germ/dirt-o-phobe but also just in case I need to clean up a stamp. They work nicely, dry easily and clean your hands in the process! :)

I have found some great log books at Michaels - especially in their sketchbook section. Plus, they have coupons for 40% off one item on a semi-regular basis. Yay discounts.

I am a huge fan of the fitbit, however, the cheapest one is just under $100 You can get by with a pedometer from the drug store for only $10 ...I like the fitbit because it syncs automatically, and I can track my sleep on it, which I think is cool.
But the $10 pedometer that I originally had from the drugstore worked fine Ryan got me the fitbit for Christmas, after I had already spent half a year using the regular pedometer, so he knew I was serious....

Since nobody has posted for a while, thought I would check and maybe remind others at the same time.
Thanks and hope you are all thinking about the May 3rd event coming up soon.

Why don't you just change the find date to the day that you found it when you record the find? =)

I like to use colors when I can. So, when I can't clean off the old ink from a stamp, Ill use what color that's already on there. Also, usually it's black ink, most common used color, I don't want to ruin my colored ones. Welcome to Letterboxing, happy hunting.
