At the end of the show, they show outtakes of scenes. Simon (Robin Williams) asks Sidney (SMG) where she learned to drive Duke of Hazzard Style. She replies, "Sunnydale."

As for the show, I keep watching it. Really did not like the first episode. However, I like their relationship. The other three main cast members are growing on me, too.

Civil War Editorial - Fall 1863

The following is an editorial from the Nantucket Inquirer from Sept 25, 1863.

Until recently, we have consistently been compelled to combat those who have insisted that this rebellion could never be brought to a close by military power. Bent upon aiding the rebels, the copperheads* have left no opportunity unemployed, to throw discouragement wherever they have supposed they might be successful. They were satisfied prior to the (emancipation) proclamation^, that a compromise would have to be resorted to: and when that document was given to the world, which gives Abraham Lincoln an immortal name among the benefactor of humanity, they knew that we should fail, and were ready to bend the knee to Jeff Davis and humbly seek his forgiveness and protection. That proclamation has been read and learned. We have met with some reverses since the proclamation; but how grand and significant is the general progress that has been made. One hundred thousand negroes will be under arms in two months. Our troops are everywhere successful. We must be victorious before long. We do not mean to be too hopeful, but shall not be surprised at any moment to hear the war is over; for the people of the south will demand peace, and when that demand is made in earnest, Jeff Davis and his gang will be powerless to prevent it.

The war went on for 19 bloody more months.

*Copperheads were northern democrats who opposed the war.
^ The proclamation was issued a year prior to this editorial.

Submitted for your consideration,
Old Blue

I enjoy the cross references between shows :) One of my favorites was on Hawaii 5-0 the ME (Hiro) saw a fellow member from 'Heros' and he mentioned that he 'recalled him from somewhere in the past'...

I had to try blue stuff since our only hobby shop is hobby lobby which used to sell pink stuff but replaced it with blue. I hate it...cuts are not sharp, it crumbles, and you can use your finger to rub off the material. I bet it won't hold up over time. Bring back pink stuff!

Glad you liked that special Grateful treat! It's definitely a one-of-a-kind show. Less than ten of those concerts were played across the country, all with local orchestras. Unique fun tunes -ENJOY!!!! ;o)

=) They aired an episode of that over the summer on a Friday. My mom loves that show. They started to play or perform an a cappella of the Magnum PI theme song at the end of the show. The next show was Blue Bloods with Tom Selleck right in the opening scene.

I love self-referencing or just regular pop culture references. That is part of the reason why I like Buffy so much. The first time I watched Buffy (in 1997 or 1998), I also watched Dawson's Creek for that first season. It had that annoying Paula Cole song, "I Don't Want to Wait," as it's theme. Anyway, on one episode, they did an episode where The Breakfast Club was referenced and copied a bit. Joshua Jackson was on the show. At that point, he was known for The Mighty Ducks movies.

So, they start talking about The Breakfast Club, saying that the actors have barely done anything since the 80s. Joshua's character goes something like, "Emilio Estevez is still acting. He was in those Mighty Ducks movies. Those were classic." All of the other characters turn to look at him.

A year later, he was in the teen/college teen horror film, Urban Legend. The main character is in a car with Josh. He starts up his car and out blasts, "I Don't Want to Wait." He quickly shuts if off telling the character, "I hate that song."

One thing that makes acetone/laser transfers darker is to remove the paper when it is wet.

Thanks for this bit of info. Here in the Sierra, everything dries *so* quickly. I just did a transfer for a good-sized stamp, and I think it'll work fine, but darker would have been better. I used a swab and swabbed top to bottom in a swath, after two swaths, things were pretty dry, so you are making the case for lifting the left edge of the transfer as I work my way to the right swiping swaths (make a poem outta that, Grumpy!).

Rick in Boca,

I bought some tan speedy cut once, and while I didn't like it, my daughter didn't mind it. I agree it is good for beginners if that is all they can find. At least it gives you the practice of how it looks to carve, reverse image, etc. But last resort is about it.

I am soooooo jealous of the Japanese carving blocks, from what I see on different websites (that show carved blocks), they look wonderful, and smooth. I like the thickness, no need for mounting.. But shipping is a bear!

If you are selling your own stamps on Etsy, the white Japanese blocks just photograph so nicely when inked in contrasting bright colors. Sounds lame, but I was definitely drawn to them.

I don't believe you can go back. Might be because they don't hold any weight anyway like they do with traditional boxes. Just is there but not functional.

Oh koalacat, I sympathize. This is a constant thing for me. I will be 25 this month and constantly people think I am 15. Once I was working for my brother's business and someone came in and thought I had just gotten off the bus and was waiting for my parents to finish working. I have even had off-duty doctors be shocked by my age (and one of them was in Peds!). It is a constant struggle to get respect. People think it is a blessing to look young...it isn't. It sucks. I have been to Disney with longtime boyfriends and have got very rude comments like we are some, um, how do I say this..."excited teens" without even showing any pda. One cast member took us aside from the queue and let others by to tell us that there were night vision security cameras in all of the dark places of the ride. I found that rather inappropriate and rude. I have a lot of stories...

Sorry to hijack this thread. Back on topic, some 13 year olds are independent. My college roommate lived in Los Angeles and told me she was always taking buses and whatnot to get around and to go between her parents houses as well as school (she went to the same school even though she moved away). If transportation is there, I do no see it as unusual. Especially if they do it with others (not just parents).

Those ratings aren't used for anything right now so I haven't implemented any way to rate previous non-traditional find. When the day come that it actually does it used for something, I'll provide a way to rate previous finds.

Until then.... I wouldn't worry about it.

Stick the dowel all the way thru and then pull with both hands on the ends of the dowel. Works best if the book is held tightly between your thighs while sitting.

Denise: thanks for confirming that even top-notch, first-rate, BIA logbook creators can have "issues" too.

I like straightforward clues that lead to a fun box. In my opinion its better to have the perfect stamp for the location and a good hide, then off-the-wall clues.

I had a visitor last night. It left muddy footprints coming in the screened-in porch. They led to a bowl of water which now contains very dirty water. Then they led to a can where I had a large grub which is now missing. The suet feeder which contained only a small chunk of suet is also gone. Who shall I call?
