Sounds like fun! I haven't boxed in soooo long! My home-grown boxer should be ready for it next summer. He was a little impatient after the find when we gave it a try this past summer. He was great in searching for the box, but done after it was found.
Happy AQversary, Christmas6!!

Why didn't you join on Christmas? LOL I hope you got out on the trail today, or did some carving.
May you have many more AQversaries.

Was looking on AQ for boxes in Anderson since I will be there this year sometime. It seems that there are only 4 boxes in Anderson? Can that be true?

Anderson seems to be lacking active boxes. I did a search and found even the black walnut box is questionable. As I recall it was in spot that might go missing. I recall food trash left nearby. I recommend a visit anyway. Don't forget to search Indiana mysteries. I didn't check letterboxing.org but there could be more.

My missing stamp!

Apparently some geocacher really liked my stamp "A scene not found in the woods" and took it. I was informed by another letterboxer that the stamp is missing and there is a geocache in the same stump. Unfortunately I have since moved to Colorado and am unable to attend to it. If there is anyone willing to retrieve the logbook and send it to me I would greatly appreciate it. You can contact me here through email for my address. Thanks!

I am probably the closest active boxer to your box. I think can run up and get it this weekend. Someone has planted a new box in Vincennes and helping your box will give me an excuse to go get the new one ;)

Heading to Indy

I will be back home in Indpls. later this year. Not exactly sure of the dates just yet.
Are there any events that anyone knows of that will be going on in that area say July thru the first 2 weeks of Oct.? If there is , that would help me decide on a date for sure.
If not, maybe we could have a mini meet for exchanges.
I'll be in Indianapolis, east side and west side, and Plainfield.

Visiting Back Home

Hey Indy boxers. I will be coming up from Georgia to visit family and friends after too long away. I will be in the Indianapolis area May 15-25. Would love to meetup and do an exchange. I do know I will be at Crown Hill, what visiting boxer wouldn't be, a day or two, in the downtown area a few times around the Circle, Military Park. I will also be out at Washington Park East to visit my mom, brother, grandparents and other family members resting there.
I am also going to bring a box or 2 to plant for my Hoosier hunters.

Do any of you Hoosier boxers have a homemade shortcut, or know where I can get a map of Crown Hill Cemetery? I've looked on line and not having any luck. I will be up in a few weeks and want to box there to the fullest without all the double, back-track, going in circles walking. I am sure, even with a map, there's plenty of walking to be done.
I can't wait for all the history I'm going to gather from here.

You should be able to get a map at their website. Just google Crown Hill. Be prepared: you will not be able to get all of the boxes in 1, 2 or even 3 days. There are just too many. If you want, I can look through my logbook and recommend the ones to get. How much time will you actually have at CH?

When I go this is what I do: I make my list. Go through it and highlight the section it is in, according to the clue. Then I have my map handy and I highlight the section. From the gate, I make a list of what boxes I will attempt in order. Then I know my route.

For example: Go through the gate, take an immediate RT turn and drive to section 8, get box A & B. Then continue to section 10 and get box C & D.

Also be aware that the sections are NOT in order. Meaning section 1 is not necessarily next to section 2.

Let me know if you need any help. I have found every box that is/was available to find in that cemetery.

Mary/CC

PS: Oh, BTW, watch out for how people have listed the boxes. Some are under Crown Hill, some are under 38th St, some are under 36th? street. You can click on the "nearby boxes" icon from one of the boxes on your list to get more
