I promote my shop using my two blogs, a Facebook Fan page, twitter, and Pintrest.

Pintrest is pretty Etsy friendly. You can go to the items you list on Etsy and "Pin" them to a board or page on Pintrest for people to check out. Anyone looking up or searching for something on Pintrest will be able to find your items.

Alternately, my blog and forums have been the big places for me to drive traffic to my etsy shop. When I had more time to devote (it took me a year almost to buy my first house, so things have been slow), I regulary posted on both of my blogs about items I made, and items I sold.

One of my blogs is dedicated to how I make things. If a blog reader found an item they liked, but couldn't make/craft it themselves, they would see the interesting items along with links to buying those items.

the other blog was dedicated solely to things I sold (Vintage stuff at the time). I used things like Blog parties, and forums where I listed that blog as a method to find out more about what I do. When a blog reader found that page, i used links to promote my shop.

Also, Etsy has a great feature called "Etsy mini". You can use Etsy mini to feature specific items, and then paste special code directly into a blog post, or the sidebar of your blog.

Hey etsy fans, a new podcast has started that I found out about, thought you might be interested.

It is called Etsy Converstations. Here is the link to the wordpress page: http://etsyconvo.wordpress.com/

I listened to all the podcasts over the weekend and was fun to learn more about some sellers.

(shhhhhh, someone you may know may be a guest sometime in May).

Hi Etsy Fans and Fellow Letterboxers,

My husband was transferred with his job last year, so we packed and moved from NC to Denmark. I have an Etsy store and with the big move didn't have time to create, so I put it all on hold for a bit. Now that we are settled and have 8 months in Denmark under our hats, I am creating and listing new things in my store.

I have also been invited to participate at 2 holiday fairs, one hosted by the PTA at my children's school and another by the expat community which will have newspaper ads and coverage. So...I have been very busy!

Stop by my store now and then and I will definitely search for each of you.... http://www.etsy.com/shop/TurtleLoveLee

I am also on Facebook as Renee Fister-Lee if you want to friend me :o)

I'm looking for a "snack table", and so far don't really like the few things I'm finding online (and in-store is even worse). The type of thing I want (google-images for "snack table for couch") slides up to a couch so the base is under the couch and the top is just above the cushion, with enough room for a glass and a book.
I'm wondering if I could find someone who does woodwork on etsy to make one... do any of you have suggestions for a vendor I could try?

I guess you have seen the ones at Pier One. I was in there the other day and was amazed at all those little tables. Must be the new In thing!!

Also I have had great luck on Etsy contacting people to get them to make stuff for me. I would suggest that you try to find a woodworker who lives relatively close to you since you might have to pay more for shipping than anything else! Since it is a larger item

Pier 1 is my "fallback" position right now-- I do like that I can go see them before buying.
In the mean time, I had marked some local woodworkers on etsy a while ago, so I'll start with them...

thank you!

I just had to share these custom made wedding cake toppers I ordered for my sister's wedding. She and her fiancee first met while standing in line for a Star Trek movie.

The gal did a wonderful job of getting the hair style and color just right. She even added the flowers to them. It's posted on her etsy site now. They're a bit pricey but it can be something they can keep to remember the day with. Too cute!! I just love etsy!

I can only enter if I have FaceBook?

What!? Some people don't have a Facebook? ;)

As of right now, yes. This is my first giveaway and so I'm trying out different programs for the giveaways. I honestly didn't even think about people without FB not being able to enter...I'm sorry.

Does anyone know of free giveaway systems that don't require FB? I'd like to make my next one availble to everyone. :]
