Wow, you'll be hitting a lot more places than we will. We're going to Half-Moon Cay ( one of those islands run by the shipping lines), Curaçao and Aruba. We'll be planting at least two. Thinking about a WOM for an LGBTQ plant. Olivia started here in Washington and I'm looking forward to seeing women I haven't seen in over 20 years. Should be a lot of fun :)

Agree! Even though we do get winter here in Michigan, it is USUALLY snow a little, melt, couple of weeks pass, snow a little again. But not this year, oh noooooooo.

Hope your new job works out well and the rest sorts itself out.

We’re here! went out of the country for a quick trip, but now back. Feels like it’s been a year or more since we all communicated. What have you been up to?
We:
-are building a house at the beach
-are moving into retirement (at least one of us)
-took up bike riding

Hello hello!! And happy Fool's Day! I've had one of those years that Lifetime makes "women in peril" movies about, starting with my house burning down in September. But construction continues and should finish up by the end of May, and spring has sprung (finally) and I'm competing in The Twinkie Run tonight. ;-) (Yes, it's a real 5k where you get a minute shaved off your time for every twinkie you eat).

Why are we so quiet, and where are the rest of us? Statistically you're absolutely correct!

Gay Pride Theme

So now that all the states have a theme, I’m proposing we try and turn Ryan’s attention to a Gay Pride Theme. Looking at the components of a theme, it looks like the major ones are:
a banner (something that gets repeated is common)
two or three little cartoons to put in the corners
something for Marjorie to wear

I think Marjorie should have a t-shirt that reads "Lavender Menace”
any other ideas?

Most themes are associated with a significant day or event (other than the State ones). Might I propose:
May 17th, International Day Against Homophobia, Transphobia, and Biphobia : http://dayagainsthomophobia.org/

The other possibility is to wait until the Supreme Court returns it's ruling, though there is the possibility that it won;t be a complete victory, and it's probably several months away.

Wow, this looks like a good one. Have never heard of it - thanks. Initially we had discussed having a theme for June, when so many Gay Pride events are held - to mark the Stonewall Riots, June 28, 1969. We could also commemorate Windsor v. United States and Hollingsworth vs Perry, June 26, 2013. Here’s a timeline of gay anniversaries through history. One of my favorites is April 15, 1979, Easter Sunday, when the Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence first made their appearance.
K, everybody, what should we be celebrating?

For all who have been touched by the terrible Orlando massacre. Been watching the news coverage all day, and it while it feels terribly familiar (Je Suis Charlie) it is also so surreal. Can not believe we were all celebrating this time last year with Obergefell.
