bias tape and labels

Okay - working at Beans I tend to save stuff instead of toss it. Right now we get these cute little kids towels tied up with bias tape (about 24" long) that in order to monogram the towel we have to undo this and we toss it - but its still good. We also have pick labels - basically 2x3" self sticking labels that come in sheets of 8... but often assignments only use 3 or 4 of the labels. I bring them home and use them for mailing labels and Quisps...

So if anyone wants any of these - I can get them in on-going amounts.

I would love to come across a BIA... but I can't afford the $100+ and then to buys the wires, etc... I've tried several times to Bid on several on E-bay but they always went up too high.. and not sure I'd even be able to figure out those wire thingy's... lol .. Although a place I worked many years ago, had a very nice, industrial type one that used "plastic" wires...

So my question is, IF/WHEN someone offers up a BIA, what could possibly be comparable in trade if no monies were to be paid??

I think this will be a very successful board!!

Thanks for listing & creating it!!

I have two industial binding machines and the entire BIA. I use all of them equally.

The reason that I offered the BIA is that I have several. (I actually offered it to a several other people before I posted.) Had one, friend gave me one becasue of the thing leaking paper (LOL - it is a paper punch - you have to empty it). So she gave it to me. Then they came out in pink. She had to have that one too. (same problem - LOL! - they are very easy to empty - I am sure that there are many who can report this too). Parents bought one for me for Chirstmas and got one from my grnadma when she passed. So there is a collection of them here.

They are only worth their value if that is your goal. I am receiving LTC to give to my mom (who is grieving) she likes pretty things. After I clear my work table I may unpack another and off it up. That is probably a few weeks out. I was not smart - sending a ton of postal out on the same day - duh! So I have all these postals waiting to leave. They are everywhere - along with about 100 pieces of jewlry that was made in the past few weeks. That have not been put away. Go figure!

Personally I do not like something not being used. I believe in giving stuff away, tossing them, finding a home for them. So everytime I get something I don't need I pass it on.

My .02.
Shawna

I am looking for pin vices - that is why I posted that.

Do any of the film canisters have lids that go "inside" the canister? Not the kind where the lip of the lid locks over the outside of the rim? The ones with the "innie" lids are what we use at Girl Scout camp to make Rockets with Alka Seltser Tablets! If you have any of those I would be really interested!

The rockets are sooooooo much fun! You decorate the canister with a paper rocket and and adult loads up the Alka Seltzer while you stand back...Takes a few minutes to pop, but when it does.... From the Junior Girl Scout Handbook on Aerospace!
Wanna copy???? Too fun for any age and gender!

BTW...I love Sock Monkeys!

I'd love a copy! My kids love things that explode. lol.

Doesn't surprise me at all! Do you still make them in GS? I saw slippers in the store that looked like those old sock monkeys--the person in line with me wondered out loud whether kids today would even know what they are.

Camp Fire Lady is the best!

When I got home yesterday there was a HUGE box on my front porch! Not only are there enough film canisters to keep my troop happy for weeks, but all sorts of other goodies for my girls to craft with!

What a wonderful surprise!

Thank you Camp Fire Lady! I love this new group!

Glass Seed Beads-Need Any?

I've got 3 tubes of small seed beads (black, green, and turquoise) from Hobby Lobby. They are just too small for me to work with so they are practically all full. Does anyone use these in crafting projects? I'd be happy to send them to you or trade for some LTC sleeves (used are fine).

What do you make with them

Get some of that really really sticky 2 sided tape called tacky tape???? or something. Its pink and very thick. Make a shape, an image, a letter, whatever you want out of the tape and stick the beads to it. They charge an arm and a leg for seed beads at those Stampin' parties. Most excellent for LTC's and cards and such.

deniserows
in thousands of seed beads
Bag o' letterboxing odds & ends, etc.

It's a big bag of stuff that's been hanging out in the closet. I think we picked it up at a gathering: tins, logbooks, stamp pad material, stamp mounting stuff, markers, etc. All need to go to a good home where they will be used!

If you're local to Redmond WA, email me and we'll arrange the transfer. Don't want the hassle of mailing.
