Well our theme this year is “winter” and for the first time we’ve got snow. There is 4” of dense snow on the trails but we are moving ahead with plans and will be ready if you are.

Sorry, it's my fault. I stole the nice weather for my event last month!
Hats off to the hosts of Soups On!!

The ladies from the Maine contingent had a wonderful time at Soups on! Thanks so much for a wonderful event and catering to everyone’s needs (drying wet socks, stirring soup, uberring attendees, etc.). Our first experience at Soups On will be most memorable!! Thanks again!!

I thought everyone was making me feel at home. I figured everyone thought I would miss the white stuff so they ordered it up for me.

(FYI: I officially do not miss the cold weather! I’m ready to head back to the sunshine state!)

Hope all the eggs you hide get found...

...except for one of those, that doesn't get found until the end of summer, and a kid finally finds it and runs in the house all excited, almost tripping over the floor mat, launching the egg across the room, where it finally hits the floor and instantly fills the house with an unmistakable aroma...

Ahhhh, I can picture mom's face now...

But, that's probably just me. ;)

There are over 2500 active listings in Connecticut on AQ (the maximum number of the AQ returns -- I have no idea how many active boxes are actually here), so it's just about impossible to pick any particular box that would be good with kids.

Instead I'd look for locations, and consider traffic. In Fairfield County you would want to avoid I-95 and the Merritt Parkway on weekdays. Doesn't matter what time of day. Dinosaur State Park is a great spot for kids and there are also some letterboxes. But again, that's off of I-91, which can get jammed during rush hour. And they are closed Mondays or something, I forget. I took my kids to Black Rock State Park because it's right off of Route 8 and there's a small beach you can swim at, and then go hiking and find some boxes. Basically any public park location in Connecticut is bound to have boxes. It's the longer trails that sometimes have nothing, especially in the Northwest hills.

The AQ Statics page has the answer.
7,472 in CT. Behind only MA with 7,627.
