Gypsy Fiddler and I have been thinking (independently) about the fact that we are not alone! She has a few spots left in her We're not alone... LTC tracker emphasizing imagination and creativity (and does not require [edit: SENDING the] stamp). Due in the mail by June 1.

I have two trackers, Friendly Aliens and Alien Enemies, emphasizing specific aliens. My LTC trackers request that your stamp also be included for an event, but the stamp can be returned to you after the event. Due in the mail May 1 and July 1, respectively.

We hope you will join us in our journey out of this world!

I got the same message. So I put my foil hat on and I'm keeping an eye out for the black helicopters. Trying to cover my bases because I don't know who's going to show up. :-/

I’m signed up (and I just re-read the description) and I didn’t see the part where it says no need to carve a stamp.

Sorry, you do need to carve a stamp. I meant it is not required to send the stamp with your LTCs in Gypsy Fiddler's tracker. In my trackers, I am requesting the stamp with the LTCs to be used in an event.

I joined Alien Enemies. The scariest book I have ever read is called Abduction. By John Mack. I was too afraid to go to the bathroom in the middle of the night when I was reading that. I was even afraid in the morning when I would first go downstairs. That book is scary!

Still waiting on the last cards in my first tracker, but they are on their way!

This is so exciting. I can't even believe that you have all of your cards at this point! Or at least almost. I went and looked at your tracker participants so that I can harass them when they send cards late to me LOL I'm just teasing. But in all reality it's so unusual to have everybody send cards early. So I'm very happy that you're participants are enthusiastically helping you :-)

Wonderful, I'll remember to be patient when it doesn't go quite as well. Right now I'm working most on the mardi gras tracker I joined, gonna make that fancy and up my game. But also have keep calm plotted, childhood fears is the latter of these, and I also don't have to mail mine to host obviously. But I do know what I'm doing. Just so it's known I do keep plucking away at things, even when I'm in multiple trackers.

I'm not ready to do an LTC but this is a funny subject. I can't decide if my biggest fear was running the mile or doing sit ups for those Presidential Fitness Tests. Had I known then what I know now, I would have taken that stuff more seriously lol.

You are SO ready to do an LTC, what do you mean?? You've been carving for a while...just take the leap and stamp a card. It doesn't need to be fancy. But a warning, you will become addicted!

They actually aren't all that hard, though the first time is pretty daunting.
1) Pick a theme.
2) Decide on a due date (in hand or send by).
3) Decide on how many people you want in your swap. Best to start kind of small to begin with.
4) Set up the tracker.
5) Have a location to keep the sent envelopes together as you receive them.
6) Remember to make your own cards in a timely fashion.
7) Once you have all the cards, or have reached the due date and have established you have all the cards you are going to get, then it's time to sort. What works best for me is to have a clear table and make one pile for each participant. I take each set of sent ltcs and deal them into each pile, kind of like dealing a hand of poker. I then return any extra ltcs to the envelope of the sender. That way I don't misplace any or return them to the wrong person. When I have sorted all the sent ltcs, I make sure that I have one of each card in each pile.
8) Log the cards you receive. You can do them all at once, or one at a time as you receive them.
9) Remove the mailing label with your address, so that you can return the sorted sets, tape the envelopes, and attach return postage, then mail them back.
10) Have fun.
11) Communicate with your participants. If something comes up that might cause a delay, let people know.

After you've done a few, you'll figure out what works best for you. This order may not be exactly how you do it, but these are the basic steps.

Great advise from DP!

I’ll add that it won’t always go as smoothly as you might wish. I don’t say that to dissuade you (I think you should take the plunge!) rather, I say it to remind you that they seem to take on a life of their own and you should just accept that. Remember, have fun.
