The WDSTF boxes are easy to update- maybe 5 series? I found them in Indiana and it didn't take too much effort to change each series.

AQ doesn't know the location of unlisted boxes, so it can't map those. As one person suggested, however, if you're willing to 'give up' a find from another state, you can add 'redirect' it to Texas with a custom location. As long as the state 'giving up' the find has other finds in it, you won't really see much of a change in it.

I haven't tested it, but I didn't change the location of my mystery-location finds either. I don't want to give away that information.

Edited: actually, since my logbook is private, I don't think it matters; I'll probably add the locations.

Now I'll have to go through my logbook and remove the finds for boxes that moved

You can also just add a custom location to those boxes. AQ will use the state of your custom locations if there is one. One of the reasons I wanted to limit the maps to premium members only--custom locations are also a premium member perk, so premium members can fix problems like that. =)

AND I just learned something new. I had one listed in VT though I've never been to VT. Realized it traveled down to an event I was at. How cool I can fix it!! LOVE the maps! And I hadn't used the custom location option yet, so thanks for the reminder that it exists! :D

EDIT to add--- one thing that might be fun: I've donated stamps to be planted in other states. (and planted in NC for someone not in NC)... It'd be cool to see a map of where my donations are too. BUT I'm super stoked about the current maps so that's just a thought :D

Only you can see custom locations. Nobody else can. There is absolutely no way for anyone to see what you've used as a custom location except by hacking your account. (That even applies to admins, I might add!)

So by all means, change those mystery-location finds guilt-free. =)

LROSEM, I have a few stamps that I need to plant, but after that, I would be interested in planting some of your stamps in MA, CT, or RI, if you need any of those states. :^)

Join the celebration; May 24th will be the 10th Anniversary of International Plant a Letterbox (PAL) Day. This is the day to plant a letterbox in one of those spots that is truly deserving of being commemorated by having its own letterbox. http://www.atlasquest.com/showinfo.html?eventId=3638

How odd--usually the good hiding spot is the first thing in my letterboxing planting m.o.?

My, "How odd" wasn't meant as a judgement--I just thought it was bizarre that people's minds work so differently. Some people are called to letterboxing by the image--"Carve me, Carve me". I'm called by a place. I go by certain places and they call out to me demanding letterboxes--not every hotel, shop or park, mind you, but just certain, unique spots need a letterbox to celebrate their ambiance.

I completley understand! :-) I didn't take it that way at all.
I agree, it's very strange how different people think!

I just thought it was bizarre that people's minds work so differently.

I'm often driven by the clue. I have an idea of how I want to present the information and then find a place that works. Like this one, for example:

http://www.atlasquest.com/showinfo.html?boxId=121375

I had a couple dozen verses printed out that I carried around for six months till I found a location that had the right elements. The last thing is thinking of a stamp image that fits the theme.
