When was it that Ryan gave us the tutorial on making Pink Stuff?

Yep.

I don't know if anyone actually did. But I think some of us may have played an April Fool's joke back that we caught our toaster ovens on fire.

Some people tried, but I didn't fall for it. Mostly because I knew there was absolutely no way anyone would have had enough pink shavings saved up to have tried it. Not yet, at least! =)

I would like to try carving with them, but from what I've heard I'd never be able to go back to my other tools.

Just wondered as I saw a new 3 piece set on e-bay for $30 or best offer and that included 3 blocks of Mastercarve.

Haha, I'm glad you scored it! I can't drop more money on procraftination supplies right now, so I was just going to find the listing and cry in front of the screen for a little bit.

I just searched eBay the other day, too! But then I ordered some modified gouges and some stampeaz goodness, and there goes my budget for a good while. I'll score a Staedtler one of these days I hope! :(

It would have cost more but the Mastercarve brought down the value. They should have sold them separately. :)

Is this what you call it when you're carving your donation for an event in your tent the night before, or when you're carving and the dishes have reached the ceiling. For the record, either one works for me.

Don't worry about having to go back to your other tools. I am still using my first Staelders, with periodic honing to slick up the blades. I stopped counting carves after I passed 200 and something, and I'm nearing the end of my third carves logbook, each with 100 pages, and some pages have more than one stamp image.

Yes, they will go on forever. Will anyone fess up to throwing them away when they got dull (back when they were plentiful).

Think, carving when the dishes have piled up to the ceiling. You finally stop to do the dishes, and suddenly you're inspired to do a still life carving of said dish pile. You go carve it, and hours later return to tackle those dishes. You turn the water on, and think, "Water! I have to go see what that carve looks like watercolored real quick..."

...but I agree that either use works ;)
