So I went to the page to read your clue and the tree picture is AWESOME, I am jealous that I did not find a tree like that. It looks just like a gnome is busting out of it, too cool.

you really have always taken such good pictures anyway.

Thanks. Just hope my little Gnome is safe there. It was a really busy trail today! I think the shade had something to do with it.

Since not everyone followed the admin's direction, perhaps all the planters could insert the keyword, gnomeday2014. An advance search with this keyword is a lot more efficient. Getting everyone to add this ... well, that's another challenge. I just noticed some 140 signed up for this event. That's a LOT of gnomes!

For those "Doctor Who" fans out there, here are some things to think about gnomes:

Wow! That is a neat tree. I may just have to find a tree like that to use as a reference point for a letterbox.

It is not supposed to be an event box. It is a traditional, but the name of the box should say Gnome Day 2014: ___________

The whole day (Gnome Day 2014) is an event, a virtual event.

It's an online "event" in which people physically planted traditional boxes....follow the clues to location. So you can change the listing to traditional.

Did they change the name of the event? I could have swore it was Hide a Gnome Day. I can change it on AQ but I am not changing it on the logbook in the box.

Packing for a trip...

So I'm packing for a trip to visit my hometown. My brother boxes and we have plans to box together and I'm bringing some stamps to plant together, too.

Our flight leaves tomorrow afternoon. So far I have put a hold on my mail (so my mailbox isn't full of postals and LTCs while I'm gone). Typed out instructions for my dog sitter. Packed my letterboxing bag, stamps to hide, extra duct tape, baggies, logbooks, and copies of LTCs to give my brother.

Yes, in that order.
No clothes or toiletries have been packed yet.
I think I have my priorities straight?

Shout out to boxers in Tucson- be on the look out for a few new stamps in your area this week. :)

Sounds right. You'll need your toiletries tomorrow morning and how long does it take to throw some clothes in a suitcase, after all?

Sounds about right to me. You can always box without underwear, but you gotta have the rest of it, especially your presents to the locals.

Boxerless boxing, but not boxless boxing.

I ALWAYS get my LBing stuff ready first. After all, you can always stop and buy anything you forget. But a new LOGBOOK, letterboxing supplies, signature stamp, and printed CLUES? NO way!!

Have a great trip!!

Yes, exactly! Though I am visiting a large town so I COULD get a new log book. but the rest- no.

And actually this is one of the few trips in a LONG LONG time I haven't printed clues. I put my brother in charge of that because I know there's some he's wanted to find but didn't have a hiking partner for, and some he's found already that are his favorites he'll take me to. Plus one I couldn't find last time I visited, that he found like a week later when he re-read the clues and tried again. So I told him to put together a list and take me. Feels weird, but kind of nice not to have to do that work! :)
