For those who like patches for their backpacks, do you prefer regular(to be stitched on) or iron-on?
I might have some made up and would appreciate your input.

Thanks,

My preference is the iron on... quick and easy and can always be stiched on if needed. The regular ones do not have both options =o)

I prefer to stitch mine on but you can usually stitch the iron-on ones too.

Stitched! Always stitched. The problem with iron ons is that some material will not take a hot iron and iron ons don't always hold. There is a stitch that is used in taxedermy quite ofter called a reeling stitch and patches can be sown on in a hurry using this stitch. They never come out crooked, I don't know, I just don't understand, but it works. If you have patches made up let me know. I am a collector and I would love to procure a couple of them. I promise I'll wear it proudly.

I perspnally prefer to sew them on, but iron ons can be sewn on. Please let me know if you create or have a patch made up. I would be interested in purchasing a couple.

You are at a gathering.......
You are doing an exchange with someone and having a wonderful time......
While stamping in, you get a feeling, turn and look behind you......
No one is there......
You continue to stamp in but get that feeling again........
Again no one is there.......
You decide that you need to head outside in search of letterboxes.......
You reach into your pockets and find.........
A COOTIE!

Are you ready for the Cootie Crew?

Let the games begin!

To become a part of the Cootie Crew experience, join the club.
When you join the club, you recieve a certificate of membership, an official Cootie Crew tee-shirt, and a offical Cootie Crew patch.

Introductory price is $15 for shirt and patch. On any orders placed after March 11th, the price will be $18, tee-shirts $15 and patches $3 each. Shipping is $5. Remeber, it is cheaper to join at gatherings I am attending.

All money made off the sales of the Cootie Crew will be placed back into Letterboxing, with some of the money made, going to a charity choosen by the Cootie Crew members at the end of the year.

Right now, I am only doing children shirts. S, M, L, XL.
Colors available : White, Black, Ash, Pale Pink, Forrest Green, Navy Blue.
I will be working on making available, adult and toddler shirts for anyone who is interested.

The offical Cootie Crew Patches will be black and white. When you receive your patch, you can color your cootie withany color you wish. Recommendations on what ink to use will come as soon as I figure that out.

A webpage will soon be up for the Cootie Crew to read up on events coming up and games to play. It will also be easier to order a membership there as well.

The orders can officialy start coming in. A bunch of you have already emailed me, so if you could do it again with sizes and colors, that would be great. ANY ORDERS will start being shipped on March 18th.

I placed the order for the patches today, and they are supposed to
arrive within 14 days. Here is the final proof from the patch company:
http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b279/tdscrafts/finalpatch.jpg
The size of these patches will be 2.3 x 2.5 inches, and the cost will
be $2 per patch. I'll be responding to everyone who has e-mailed me
expressing an interest in ordering a patch with the address to send
orders to. If ordering by mail, along with your payment, you will need
to send a SASE with one stamp for every two patches you order.

If you're going to be at the San Diego gathering on March 24th, I
recommend that you pay for and receive your patch from me in person
instead and save the postage. ;)

If you're not going to be at the gathering and haven't e-mailed me yet,
but do want to order patches, please e-mail me and I'll send you the
mailing address and any other information you request.

I don't think it would help much. LOL.

What is happening to AQ, everybody is reading double meanings into everything. Must be a virus on the internet.

Shocking :-D

A few months ago my homeschooling daughter and I were talking about "peninsulas" and word origins. She may forget her other land forms but I don't think she'll forget what a peninsula looks like when she comes up against that word in some geography lesson. She has brothers.

Um..if you don't see it, well...no comment. But how about a hint? "It was an unfortunate choice of colors for the compass circle." Is it 'painfully' obvious yet?

Wait..you see a twig and berries? Well, everything is relative, they say.... *grin*
