Her Royal Highness has an AQ anniversary today

Protocol dictates that we do not speak to HRH until she speaks to us.
Don't forget to bow or curtsy.
(quietly, in my own thoughts, wishing HRH Princess Lea a wondrously happy AQ anniversary)

She hasn't logged in since 6/12 so one of her members of court may have to pass along the message.

Letterboxing: where the only acceptable prejudice is the one against store-bought stamps.

Disclaimer: somewhat kidding about the store-bought stamps, and I actually just planted two as part of my Journeys and Destinations series.

More seriously, it's a great theme.

So we are downsizing our house and moving into an rv (by choice). I am going through all of my craft supplies and what to my wondering eyes do I find. A beautiful slab of grade A creamy white pzcut. I couldn't believe it. Now what to carve on it?

No, an actual slab of pzcut, the stuff from webfoot from years ago that was so nice for carving. Lol. never mind, takes me a bit. You're saying a need to carve a series. I'm a bit slow. Too much downsizing on the brain.

I think that a series called What We Left Behind is a creative idea since you are downsizing. 😊

Do you do anything on this day to honor our nation? Do you enjoy time with family and friends? What do you do to observe the 4th of July?

My daughter and her husband live in a local Daughters of the American Revolution chapter house (they're caretakers). My husband and I will be attending a party that the kids are hosting today. It'll be pretty cool to spend the 4th at a house built in 1774!

I planted zucchini--any earlier and the squash bugs will kill them. Thank you, Native Americans.

You know as I remember PZ cut wasn’t all that great. But to save you from the agony of carving on it I would be glad to take it off your hands.

Took me a while to figure out why there were pies all over my screen today, but of course pi is approximately 22/7! I would bake a pie in celebration, only it's been so hot I can't bear to turn on my oven.

Ice Box Pie History
An Ice Box Pie is a delicious classic southern dessert that was named after the ice box that these pies were kept cool in. These Ice Box Pie were quick and easy to make, required no cooking in the heat of summer, and could be stored in the icebox until it was served. ... Iceboxes date back to the 1830s.

Thinking About a Name Change

I enjoy the name CoffeeSpoons - it's from a poem ("I have measured out my life with coffee spoons...")
- BUT -
This name was (surprisingly) taken on the Geocaching website, and my gmail/twitter/instagram/everything else is KatLikesPie. I was considering making it all the same.

Has anyone changed their trailname and lived to tell the tale?

I changed my trail name about a year into the hobby and it was seamless. There were no problems with my profile or logbook whatsoever. All records transferred to the new name. Not that many people knew me by my first trail name though. My first trail name is listed as an alias.
Happy Trails

I recently changed my name from Pugs and Bee...to Munkeybee. Pugs is my husband and does not attend events with me. But everyone just automatically called me Pugs! Finally, almost a year ago I asked his permission to change our name to something I didn't feel weird answering to. He was supportive! He still boxes with me from time to time because he likes that part, just not so much the events.

The only weird thing is currently I have to introduce myself "I'm munkeybee. I used to be Pugs and Bee" but even as the year has gone on, I've had to say that a little less often. I'm totally happy I changed it!

I changed mine shortly into the hobby because 1) I forgot my password and had to set up a new account (yes, I’m that kind of person) and 2) my first name was expedient based on the semi-storebought stamp I made at my daughter’s scout camp as we were doing the Letterboxing Badge. Once I decided on a permanent stamp I adopted a new name to go with it. I saw someone else list their old name as an alias; I might try that.
