Mine's tomorrow, and I feel similarly blue. It's not because it's my birthday though.

Here's to spring! And March birthdays!

It has been raining and cold here for the better part of the last weeks. There have been a few nice days, of which we took advantage to enjoy.
Someone mentioned waiting for letterboxing season. We can pretty much box year round here in North Carolina, though sometimes it is ridiculously hot or raining a lot.

Alas, I wonder, what has the weather been doing by you? Are you boxing, or is boxing not a reality for you right now? To what do you look forward the next time that you get to go letterboxing?

I'm now about an hour south of you and it has been MISERABLE. In the 12 years we have been here, this is the rainiest it's ever been and that's actually been proven true as Charlotte is having the rainiest winter ever according to the weather service. (Still beats upstate NY winters, hands down.) Tomorrow looks to be nice though. 71 and partly cloudy.

As far as boxing goes, late November, early December is my favorite down here. Boxing in the summer is just too dirty, too hot, too many bugs and snakes. I am just filthy head to toe boxing in the summer. I'm sweaty, sticky from all the bug spray so dirt just adheres to me. Yuck. (HI! Happy belated!)

I live about 30 miles north of NYC so it's been a cold winter.

For me personally there is no letterboxing "season" as such. Depending on the conditions I will box all year even if it's not hiking in the woods. I may not be able to do as much as I'd like during the winter but I find a way to do some. It just depends on how the weather goes and how much snow there is on the ground.

I don't mind cold temperatures per se. The ground conditions are more of a consideration for me rather than temperatures alone. The best season for me is fall. I think fall in the northeast is perfect boxing weather.

I don't look forward to anything specific......we have a lot of boxes in the northeast so I always have something on my 'to do' list.

Brad said that this is the most rain that this area has had since they started keeping records about 140 years ago. I think that it has been worse in Tennessee.

A few of us have been boxing in between the rainy days, though some days have still been cold.

I am not sure where you are now, but I have three stamps to plant in Fort Mill.

We do not really have a specific season either, though I do not like summer. It is too hot for me.

You do have quite a bit of plants in the Northeast. A challenge that we have in our area is not a lot of boxers are still active and few plant. I plan to offer a class soon, so hopefully that will spark some new interest.
