Here are Eevil boxes not found. The Eevil Widget says that there are 8 left, but when I run the query it only shows 7. Perhaps I don't qualify to see one of them.

Nevertheless, these are ones that no letterboxer (except Eevil and his minions) has yet figured out how to solve.

Don't forget the legendary mystery master and the Mapsurfer Treasureboxes! There are a number of letterboxes in that catalog almost old enough to vote and they're still waiting for a first finder.

My WOM clearly states that the recipient does not have permission to pass it to someone else.

I see 7. One of them has restrictions. And maybe the 8th has a dependency.

Sadly, I have solved some Eevil boxes that I will likely not be able to get, geographically speaking. But I was first finder on one when they first came out. :)

I see 7. I've made progress on two of them. The one I'm really close to solving is in Georgia. Of course, I'm in CT...

I get that they are word of mouth...But who's mouth? lol There is not clue written on most on who to find out from. Thank you.

It's like a party. You'll get invited if you've made friends with the person giving the party, or in some cases friends of friends. You don't normally invite yourself or even know who is having a party. If the WOM boxes are important to you, then try to go to a lot of events and meet up with other boxers so you can get to know them.

Well come try your hand at Mystery Postal Boxes. Free to play and if you are one of the first 10 to correctly guess the answer you receive a postal letterbox in the mail. Only cost would be $2.45 in postage to mail it on to the next person.

Check out the tracker fir the current offering or watch the postal message board for clues.

Just starting to participate in a couple postals this winter, which I am very excited and a little nervous about. I was wondering whether HH, etc. ever ride in postals?

WOM blue diamond?

I have hunted everywhere I know to look, but I can't seem to find the answer. Please forgive me if this has been discussed a million times already.

For purposes of blue diamonds and BOTWs, is a WOM box considered restricted? Would it be eligible for just blue diamonds , for both, or for neither?

A WOM box is eligible for a blue diamond. I just ran a quick search and there are over 200 such boxes.

I think a WOM is not eligible for a purple diamond. If it's WOM it's not readily available to everyone, which is one of the criteria. I ran a search and found two WOM boxes with purple diamonds. I suspect they became WOMs after they received their purple diamonds.

Yes there are hitchhikers that travel in postals. However, it really depends upon the owner of the hitchhiker intention. They typically they are intended as traditional boxes unless specified.

I have a "postal only" HH. Very tiny and no logbook (log in online) so it shouldn't add any significant weight to a postal when it gets mailed around. Poor thing hasn't been found in over half a year :(

Usually they are posted in the Postals forum, but some are only seen in the Newest Trackers widget. You'll really want to make the Postals forum one of your favorites.

There's still a mystery postal going on in that forum. One clue per day is posted to a thread in that forum and you need to guess the subject of the stamp. The first 10 to get the answer are in the postal. I've been in these a few times.

However, most are ones that you don't have to guess. I've been in two rings (where everyone carves a stamp on a theme) and a Masterpiece Art postal. When you get a stamp you do the normal exchanges of stamp images then send it on to the next person.

Got it, thanks. So most likely any HH picked up in a traditional box would stay with the traditional boxes and any HH picked up in a postal would stick to postals. Seems fairly obvious when you put it that way!

A new mystery box will be opening soon. Still one spot left in the current one. The best way to find the postals is the newest tracker widget which can be set for postals or LTCs. You would probably want to start with a single which only involves receiving and forwarding the stamps. A ring takes more commitment. Will keep you in mind if I run a newbie tracker again.
