Of course you can get around this using advanced search. Type in a location, narrow it down to traditional boxes or event boxes or whatever you like, and then put your friend's trail name in the Finder box. You'll get a list of their finds complete with the little green check marks so you can see which ones you found and which ones you didn't.

Or you can do the same thing but also put your own trail name in the Hide Finder box. Then you'll get a list of what your friend found that you haven't logged as finds yet.

And why should one have to do all that when before the update you could just LOOK??? It seems to me that doing all that instead of just looking at the info is not an update. That's going backwards, more of a downgrade.

And yes BB I know he's in Jordan.

I’m sure he will comment upon his return.

I wasn't really planning to. I already posted my thoughts on the subject--everyone hates whatever I change anyhow, so I'm doing what I want--an actual logbook.

Searches can be found on the search page.

Maybe I'll add some premium member "search perks" on the logbook when I finish the Jordan Trail.

[...] when I finish the Jordan Trail.

You know, after you finish the Jordan Trail you can come to Utah and hike the Jordan River Trail. You even can hike off-road all of the way from Utah Lake to Hinkley Drive in Ogden. You could do it in one day since it is fairly level, though not your typical hike.

You can even take another day and hike the trail around Ogden: Start at Cottonwood Drive by the Weber River, hike to the confluence with the Ogden River, the Bonneville Shoreline Trail to Beus Creek, and all of the way to Ogden Peak (9,579 feet or 2,920 m) and down the other side. Once in the mountains you can even camp. Again, not your typical hike, but there are many trails in our mountains.

Come to Utah, and take a hike!

Check drive bys

Oh. My. Goodness.
I looked at the clues for one of my drive-bys (the clues for which were written in a purposefully cryptic prose because of its urban location). Now, the clues are doubly impossible!!

I checked one of my own drive-bys.

My clues were turned to GREEK -- but when I tried to print that, it came out in English. I took a screen shot, to display the outcome, but I'm unable to attach it to this correspondence.

Very creative, Ryan.

I was disappointed at first, until I checked Letterboxing News. Clever. How does he do it? Each one I checked was in a different cypher.
But it is true. Some drive bys are just too darn easy. Easy can be good. Some mystery boxes are way too hard!

when i go to print a clue i use the single-column layout. only now it is not switching to single-column, stays on double.

Is this still happening? If so, what browser are you using?

I'm still having trouble reproducing the problem. What kind of device are you using and exactly what version of Chrome are you using? (I'm currently testing with version 73.0 and it seems to work fine.)

I'm not sure what to tell you. It's like you're describing my own system and I still can't recreate the problem that you're describing. You're sure you hit the "update page" button after changing to the single-column page layout?

Lost a friend

Last week my friend, Mama Jane, passed away. She was mainly a geocacher but she had a few letterboxes. We hosted a hybrid event a few years ago where I taught cachers how to carve stamps. We also volunteered at an event in a city park teaching ppl about activities to do outside. It rained that day and only a handful of ppl showed up. We spent most of the time sharing stories about our boxing/caching adventures. I will miss her beautiful smile :) Here is a link to her obituary. Could someone please add the tombstone to her profile page? Thanks <3

Seems like there have been a few letterboxer deaths lately. Those tribute pages are one feature on AQ I hate having to use. =(

Thanks for letting us know, though, and I've added her obituary to the tributes page for her.

Sorry about both these losses.

Team JSABAIL often boxed in Evansville and I'd noticed that they hadn't been here for quite a while. They were always good at finding boxes, they appreciated interesting things, and they always left nice feedback, so I'm sorry that the team has lost a member.

Sorry to hear of the loss of yet others of our group. Hoping all that cared for them find peace and great remembrances for the joy they gave to all while here with them.

I'm curious, Ryan, where I might find the pages of the tributes. I have looked under the headers above for that word to turn to, but alas, with no luck. I can find my brothers easily from looking at one of his box details, but I want to be able to go find out those I may have missed hearing about before now.
Thank you for any answer,
Okie Dog

OD - click on the "People" header then go to "Tributes" to find the boxers who are, undoubtedly, teaching St. Peter how to play.
