15th Annual Tucson Letterboxing Gathering: Rodeo

Thanks Wisconsin Hiker and Martini Man for all the work and thought in staging a wonderful event. It hurt to have to leave so early and leave so much treasure and so many paths unadventured. The weather was great for traipsing along rocky, saguaro dotted hillsides although Pickup preferred the warmth of the car from which she could watch all the ramada action. Having those mountains looming right there every time we looked up made for a spectacular experience--wish my camera could have captured that.

I am so bummed that I missed this one. :(
I was on Mom duty since my husband had to work and kids had sports activities.
I was so looking forward to the book exchange.

So tell me which book did you take and what did you get?

Haven't read Maisie Dobbs I will have to look that one up. I did just recently reread To Kill a Mockingbird. such a good book.

I reread 1984 last year and it is so fitting to today. even more so than when I read it in the late 80s. Now Big Brother is everywhere.

I loved the story of Ove. I didn't want that one to end.

The pervasive surveillance is not as in "1984", yet. However, it is approaching. For instance, the government doesn't mandate 24 hour surveillance, we have to buy our own spy-bot and it is (so far) voluntary.

At least we're not like China, which is much closer to "1984" than are we.

I'm organizing a humor themed event and I'm not a funny person! I'm a very talented gardener, cook, teacher, carver and other things... But I need help with funny series of stamps! Ideas, suggestions? Throw 'em at me!!!

Literally, I'm the person who laughs at the joke a minute later than everyone else...

"The Far Side" by Gary Larson.
I loved the desk calendars we would get at the beginning of the year with a new one of his cartoon/jokes to enjoy every day.
There have been several times that I thought how cool of an event that would be to have the stamps be Far Side images.
Anyways, just throwing it out there, probably copyright issues trying to rip the images off the WWW, but if someone saved their calendars???

Questions (‘cause I might have ideas), what is the time schedule for your event? And, are you looking for stamps or ideas that you will carve?

Wish we could go. My favorite coffee mug is from there, and it just broke last night, so I need to replace it.
But, I'll be at a different state park that weekend.

Have fun!

We were once part of a postal that shared favorite cartoons. Ours was of Snoopy piloting his sopwith camel against the Red Baron. Another postal shared the various inhabitants of Bikini Bottom. That was a fun one to receive.

I've not done much boxing in the last few years. Inexcusable, I know, but trying to get back in the loop. There are so many breweries near me now, so I shall try to contribute.

If we do cross paths though, there is still this: https://www.atlasquest.com/boxes/clue/?boxId=11001

And there is this if you prefer another local beverage: https://www.atlasquest.com/boxes/clue/?boxId=98550
