Thank you thank you thank you!!

I’m so grateful for your kindness in taking the time to advise and guide me in and around the greater Atlanta area.

And for offering to hike with me.
Trying to figure out my divide and conquer plan... I printed out a bunch of clues yesterday and next is to sort and see how to figure out which areas what days... unsure of the plan at this point but a very sweet offer that is much appreciated. If I’m in the zone for a boxing buddy, I’ll let you know 😉

Happy Boxing

...Atlanta’s most famous greasy spoon.

Hah! I lived about 100 feet from that place in the fall of 1973, for about three months. Loved that place, ate a LOT of meals there!

When are you planning to come? Will you have a car? Do you like long hikes? Stone Mountain can be totally overwhelming, and although there are lots of boxes, you shouldn't expect to go there and get 50 boxes in one day. Even 20 is a push for someone without a guide. Other locations (Red Top Mountain, Don Carter state park, Yellow River, Arabia Mountain, Unicoi, Yargo) have more straight forward clues, scenic trails, and only cost $5.00.

Stone Mountain can definitely be overwhelming and the search results could stand to be cleaned up. Decatur Cemetery is great. Oakland Cemetery only has a few, but is amazing in it's own right. Where else would you find a cemetery with a gift shop? And the Doll Head Trail is quite interesting as well.

Stone Mountain can be totally overwhelming,

I've been doing maintenance on some of mine there and pulling some that have served their purpose and should be retired. I might just go ahead and pull all mine that are older than 2 years (um, yeah that's most - LOL). I would hazard to guess that the locals have most of the old ones and new boxers aren't going to bother with how overwhelming the park is anyway.

LOL! No worries - I'm not moving very fast at my goals!!

I think you may be one of the few newer local boxers at the mountain - though I could be wrong about that. Good luck on your continued searches!

My thoughts exactly. I'm going to slowly start removing my old box has no one's found in years... If no one is looking for them then their litter in the woods...

So agree! But what to do with the abandoned boxes?? I'm thinking there are only a few of the old, first ones (thinking Ryan's and Sun Over Stone) that should remain.

I can think of more than a few that should stay. Like All of the remaining Granny and Paw Paw boxes, plus the tributes to them. Those boxes are fascinating even if you never met Granny and PawPaw.

And all the boxes that require a boat- atleast one more summer, as a favour to me please!

If anybody wants to hook me up with the fox hunting clues I would love a chance to look for them before they get cleaned up.

We have not found many Stone Mountain boxes and would be happy to slowly find any old ones people leave out. We are not super fast high volume boxers so can’t guarantee we would do that soon, but often like to go out and find a few boxes. Since there are not many new ones being added to the Atlanta area, we would be grateful for any old ones people chose to leave around.
