For me, it really depends on the stamp.. if it's a fairly simple stamp, I usually can finish in an hour or so.. any longer and I usually stop for a while.. (I've broken a couple of fingers in the past) because I'll start making multiple mistakes if I don't..

I cannot find my original post, so I am reposting rather than updating. If anybody would like to carve a stamp or a few for a homeschool, letterboxing education event, please see the tracker. We only need seven more. Thank you!

Hi, RDHG,

Since I'm a retired homeschool mom (4 graduates), I would especially love to help with this project. It was through a fellow homeschooler that I first learned about LBing! If still needed, I'll take Ben the Dog. Any kind of dog will do? And I'll try Ceclia the Toucan, too. Also, I recognize your name (and Super Hedge Hoggie, too) so I think you're in NC as I am. I do not see on your post where you want the stamp mailed. And is your event on 3/7? Or is that the deadline to get it to you?

That’s a tricky question to answer. If I’m doing a simple carve such as a pictograph or one of my lighthouse stamps, I can whip through one of those in 10-20 minutes. If I’m doing an intricate one or anything with lettering, then everything is slowed down and I might be working for hours. Size of stamp has nothing to do with it, smaller may take longer do to detail.

People have all received their cards back from me on the valentine's swap. I am hosting another that still has room-childhood fears. It will be a pretty cool swap, I'm excited about mine, and there's gonna be some other great cards I'm sure. A theme with an intriguing scope. Thanks for trusting the newbie! I'm doing Just fine so far.

So *technically* every micro postal should have the extra ounce stamp on it, even if it's at 1 oz or under and even if it's thinner than 1/4" because the stamp will make the envelope uneven and it's not paper.

I've learned to dump my postals in the mailbox and go, because the USPS employees always say the additional postage is needed. If they're doing more to sort out anything that might possibly jam the machines, then maybe that won't work anymore.

I just sent two micro postals your way. I added the "extra ounce" postage to one just to see what would happen.

... they'd end up carving more stamps and hence we'd have more boxes to hunt!

You misspelled "hence have a taller pile of Lock-and-Locks that need to be planted."

Does anybody remember when we could buy LnLs directly from the company in bulk for around $1.25 each? Wow, they are expensive now. Does anybody know a more affordable outlet for buying LnLs, or have you discovered a container that is just as water tight and more coat effective?

I finally got around to listing the Pre-TALE dinner event. Please come enjoy the small but elegant menu choices. There are GR options and for those inclined, craft beer brewed on location.

Sheesh. No one was going to ask me what the GR option was? It's the Guns 'n' Roses platter. It shows up 45 minutes late, then passes out under the table.

I meant GF. Gluten. Free.

OK, so the down side of getting my beloved fomites involved in this hobby is when they come to you first thing in the morning and say, "Did you really make your reservations using your trail name?" in reference to something you posted, and you immediately think, "Oh, $#!+ crap. What else did I say?" Would you like coffee with your heart attack this morning?
