A reminder for those not in the northeast

As a lucky person who did not lose power over the weekend (90% of my town did), I wanted to alert and remind people to please be patient if you are trying to contact anyone in the northeast and you don't hear from them quickly. Parts of MA, CT, NH still have many areas without power, and may not get it back for a week.
We were very blessed to only have tree limb damage, and nothing landed on the house or cars, and to keep our power. The kids are home from school, and they have postponed trick or treating (don't get me started with that one - I say we go out with our flashlights!)
Anyway, best of luck and stay safe for those still waiting for the heat and lights to come back on, and remember that if you are waiting for a postal from someone out this way that they may just be stuck for a couple days!

We lost power for almost a full day, but fortunately have it back now. However, there are still lots without power - there were alot of lines taken down by the wet heavy snow and trees, and today I've seen whole poles down in a few spots. Our trick-or-treating was supposed to be yesterday, but they are doing it today. There are alot of crews out there working, so thank you, TH for the reminder, and hopefully everyone will be back up and running real soon. Good luck!

You can add PA to that list as well. We just got our power back last night at 7:30 PM (lost it Saturday at 11:30 AM). We still do not have water - something happened to the pump with the outage. We are still luckier than some here. The power company is saying we should all have lights by Friday. If you go outside you can hear the chainsaws “singing” all around (thinking Jackal).

Thanks, I will always welcome prayer on our behalf! Good news is I think we personally have our well problems in hand. We didn't have much pressure, but did have water last night. We think we need to add air to a tank and that should be it for us *crossing fingers, that is all it will take*. I have co-workers who were told that power would not have power until Friday and there phone service was scheduled to be looked at Nov. 9th! We are among the lucky who only had a few days of inconvenience. Still praying for the rest who are waiting for the security of electric.

Eastern panhandle of WV got hit with 3-5 inches of wet snow which also knocked out many power lines. On my road a large tree literally split in half with the broken portion on the power lines. Luckily it did not disrupt power. There were a few school cancellations Monday as a result of power and heating.
